monday

I don’t really know why I don’t like this shirt more. No, that’s not right. I LIKE it. I just don’t CHOOSE it. I like the color, I like the fit. I hate the sleeves. They’re a cap sleeve. I have no problem with No Sleeve. I have no problem with bare arms. But I think a cap sleeve isĀ very unflattering. It cuts the arm at a weird spot. So it’s another of those tops that I’ll only wear if I’m confident I will have something over it all day (#cardigan). So even though it seems like a summer top, it’s really more of a spring/fall top for me. We just had an unusually cool week here so I got away with it. With The Summer Cardigan over it.

Top: Green mixed media from Loft, 22/24. Old. Comparable.
Cardigan: Long line open cardigan from Old Navy in “palomino.” 2x, old…but sometimes they bring it back. It’s SO versatile.
Jeans: More Old Navy, size 24, short.
Shoes: Keds Champions. These really need replacing. The soles are starting to curl.

tuesday

It goes perfectly with my entire summer palette. The cardigan. It’s not “white,” it’s not a yellow-based cream. It’s just sort of invisible…so it goes with all the things.

And I had a decent bang moment for the first time in months.

Dress: Junarose, size 22. Old. Comparable? Nope.

wednesday

Nothing to see here. folks. I went to the camera store to try and get something fixed, then met a friend for dinner where I ranted for 30 minutes and ate for 5.

thursday

Figured it was time to get this into the work rotation. It’s been a “good” dress for a year. Now I need to startĀ wearing it. I got so many compliments at work in it!

Dress: Old Navy prairie wrap dress, size 3x. Old. Comparable.

friday

Sorry, you just saw this dress yesterday. I’m playing with my new set-up…which is using my cell phone as the shutter release for the camera. What’s nifty about using the camera vs my wireless remote is you can see on the phone exactly what the camera sees. I can see if I’m where I want to be in the frame, where the light is hitting, I can adjust the settings from the camera and see the adjustments in real-time. In theory, amazing. In practical application, it’s very slow. Like I press the shutter button…and wait two three four, then it snaps the picture…so there’s no clickclickclick like with the remote, where I can capture the full range of an action, like a spin or twirl or walking…and then just pick the frame I like the best. I hear other people rave about this method so maybe it’s just my camera/phone connection that’s slow. I’ll keep playing with it. Also, I can hold my wireless remote in one hand and clickclikcclick without looking cuz it’s an actual button I can feel. The cell phone is a little more awkward to hold in one hand, I have to look at it to find the shutter button, and then the pic is me looking at the phone in my hand!

Maybe I’ll end up with a combination of the two: phone to check the shot before I take it…then toss it down and use the wireless remote. Anyone else use a set-up like this?

Same dress as yesterday.
