MONDAY

Work from home day. Muggy. Lots of time spent on calls/zooms. Needed stress-free dressing. Those other dresses might look like nightgowns, but this dress feels like one. That was much appreciated today. And shoes that feel like slippers.

Daywear that comes as close as possible to sleepwear without actually being sleepwear, is totally my jam these days.

Dress: Junarose, old, 3x. It’s just a lightweight, drapey, woven rayon dress. And/or nightgown.
Shoes: Birkenstock Arizona soft-slide taupe suede sandals.

TUESDAY

Back in the office. The school is on break this week so it’s super quiet and I’m just catching up on some loose ends before vacation next week – yahoo!

I like this top, but it’s gotten a little too cleavagy to wear to work when program is open and people are around. I pulled it up for the picture, but it slips right back down as soon as I focus on something else.

And the shoes I do not recommend, ha ha. They’re pretty – a nice neutral blushy-nude-pink (why do all my colors have three names in them?), but while they’re basically comfortable on my foot, the edges are hard and press into my pinky toes and the back of my heel when I walk around. I really only wear them to work, knowing I won’t be doing a lot of walking.

Top: Democracy pink floral ruffly tunic, size 3x
Jeans: Old Navy Ankle Length Raw Hem Cropped, size 24 short
Shoes: Abella “True Comfort” (ha ha ha)

WEDNESDAY

I’m only wearing this ridiculous outfit (these pants. i can’t.) because a) I was off today and only put on clothes to go outside and water the plants…and cuz b) just yesterday I made plans to join a friend on a quick trip next week so I’m trying to save my “just washed at the laundromat last week” clothes for the trip and not wear them again before then, risking getting them dirty, requiring another trip to the laundromat!

Ahh, the life of a rentin’ girl.

Anyway. It’s too bad about these pants cuz they are pretty much a delight to wear, but out in public? Nope. Been there, done that, am still plagued by nightmares. I so struggle with the “wide-legged, soft pant.” Should they be longer? Should they be shorter? Should they be buried in the backyard? And I hate an elastic waist pull-on pant without a real drawstring. They always slip and droop down so I get baggy crotch. They’re pulled up here…but I had to KEEP pulling them up and I was barely moving around. They’re tencel, so wonderfully light and drapey, so it’s a shame about the fit.

The tee shirt worn untucked made the unfortunate proportion of the cropped length pants on my short legs even worse so…I had to take drastic measures and tuck it in. A half or front tuck is not my friend (that’s for a future post) and I even tried to invent “the reverse front tuck,” but I just Could Not Would Not share those pictures. But as full tucks go on me, this is not bad. The tee shirt is very thin and very drapey and loose, so it’s a good candidate for a tuck on a full-bellied plus size body.

And now that I’ve got clothes on I think I’ll drive through Baskin Robbins for something.

Pants: Comparable in plus and straight sizes.
Tee Shirt: H&M Viscose tee. They don’t have the polka dot anymore, but they always have at least a couple viscose tees in straight and plus sizes and they’re lovely.

THURSDAY

Back to work and it is HOT. Got the original Nightgown Dress on, with what looks like The Robe cardigan, so I’m all ready for relaxing. And yet…I’m at work. Very poor planning on someone’s part.

Dress: Old Navy Pintuck Tencel Swing Dress, size 3x. Old. Comparable here in straight size and here in plus and straight sizes.
Cardigan: Old Navy Palomino Lightweight Open Front Sweater, size 2x. Old. Comparable here in straight size and here in plus size.
Sneakers: Keds Champions Canvas

FRIDAY

I am officially…ON VACATION! Can’t you see my big I’M ON VACATION smile?? Anyway, met friends for dinner…sidewalk dining…that’s my personal favorite as I can people watch and eat at the same time WIN WIN.

Dress: Junarose, size 22. Old.
Sneakers: Keds Champions Canvas

And there you have the last week of work for the summer of 2020 (I was gonna write 2016, what is wrong with me).
