Product Review: Foot Peel Mask
For months I’ve been seeing bloggers touting the miracle that is The Foot Peel Mask and I’ve been like yeah, right. Supposedly this product will take the most hardened, calloused feet and make them baby smooth again. My feet used to be really bad cuz I was a barefoot girl. If I wasn’t in a shoe-requiring public place, I was barefoot. My feet were like rocks, ha ha. But since having so much heel pain, I have always worn shoes and slippers for the arch support. So my feet aren’t AS bad as they once were, but…the allure of Baby Smooth Feet is strong.
So here I am with my tootsies bound up in plastic bags waiting for the miracle to happen. It was a challenge to get into the goop-filled plastic sock-booties but I managed, more or less. It’s suggested you put socks on over top of the plastic booties but. That is not within the realm of possibility for me, so I just sat stock still for the hour so nothing squished out and my feet stayed in.
For the “foot sensitive,” I’m putting all the pictures at the bottom. I know a lot of people do not like looking at feet.
Also, this is not sponsored, I bought the product myself and this is my unbiased review. I HOPE it works…but I DOUBT it will work. I am, first and foremost, a doubter.
So.
Afterward, I stood in the shower and rinsed my tootsies off with the handheld sprayer. A bathtub would be useful for this adventure, but no bathtub for me.
A bathtub would also be nice for the nightly soaking. I had to make do with my large stockpot, ha ha. THAT was a challenge. Fitting both my feet in there together and, again, sitting STOCK STILL (ha ha see what I did there? I’m such a hoot). It was uncomfortable but that was only for like 15 minutes.
On Day 3 I was texting my niece to ask how long til I saw some results. I was sure it wasn’t going to work on me.
Oh, ye of little faith.
On Day 4, the heavens opened and my feet looked like…well, you’ll see the picture. Whoa.
I continued soaking them nightly for the next three nights and they continued peeling afterward. It was very satisfying in a “peeling sunburned skin” kind of way, so, bonus points for that.
By Day 7 the peeling had stopped and they were done. They were definitely less dry, hard, and rough than before…but baby soft?? No.
You get two sets of goop gloves in the pack, so once I get a better soaking tub thing, I’ll do it again to see if it takes off another layer.
So…in the end, did I get the results I’d heard others did? No. Were my feet worse to begin with? Who knows. Did they make my feet BETTER (relatively speaking) than they had been? Absolutely. I can see making this a twice-yearly sort of thing just so your feet never get to that bad point again. They’re definitely SMOOTH. Er. SmoothER.
I’m going to give them an 8/10. And I’ll do it again. Which is probably the more meaningful review point.
Scroll down for pictures…and might I say, it is VERY DIFFICULT to take pictures of the bottoms of your feet by yourself.

AFTER
I should have taken the after picture immediately after but this is about 2 weeks later.
This is, by far, the weirdest post I have ever done. And the weirdest pictures I have ever shared. Ha.
Anyway, *I* will use it again even though it wasn’t AS magical as promised.
Have you ever done a foot peel?? What was your experience like?

So interesting, and kudos for posting the photos. My sister is a barefooter and constantly complains about her feet being “rock hard”. I, on the other hand, have feet as soft as a baby’s because I am NEVER without slippers or shoes unless I’m in bed or the shower…NEVER, which my sister thinks is freakish. She had the same experience you did – go through the process, wait, then ooh and ahh as the layers peel away. Alas, not enough dead skin ever is shed. Creams. Lotions. Potions. Prescriptions from the dermatologist.
Nothing helps because she still goes barefoot at times. I would recommend wearing cotton sockettes rather than go barefoot. Even indoors, we drag in bacteria and mold, organic and chemical matter, and the cleaners on floors and carpets is often not as gentle on our skin (even sturdy skin on feet) as we’d like.

Yeah, I rarely go barefoot anymore. But I NEVER wear socks. Never. Ever. Not all through the winter. Nope.
I wear slide slippers at home…I’m drawing a blank on the brand right now but they have good arch support for problem feet. I want to say Avya but that was our old system at work.
My brain is shot.

Thank you for being brave and the effort to make “the weirdest post ever”. I had not heard of the peel. it looks like it would take more that one peel to restore heavily calloused feet to baby soft.
Watching my feet age is almost sadder than watching my face age. Vaseline is probably the most helpful – almost every night – and slathered and covered with plastic bags overnight when they are at their worst. My skin has papery arras and I wonder what a peel would do to that?! (I don’t want to find out).
I’m really enjoying and learning a lot watching your process changing your wardrobe with the new styles you’ve fallen in love with inspired by BTS. You’re having so much fun and I can’t wait to see your next choices and your new look!

I keep wanting to do another foot peel…it was so nice afterward. But I still don’t have a suitable “foot soaking” container and I’m trying so hard to not bring anything new into the house…one day something will just appear and I’ll do it then!
I used to have these great large vintage oval enamelware tubs…sort of French looking in white enamel with a navy blue rim. I probably got them at auction back when I was living in my house and still selling “stuff” on ebay. Oh I had some much great stuff. Living minimally is so appealing but man do I love stuff!

Oh my goodness. That’s really strange, but I’m so glad it worked. I’ve rarely tried ANYTHING that worked like ‘they’ said it would. Congrats on the new, soft feet.

Yeah, the peeling was pretty dramatic!

This is by far the weirdest post I’ve ever read. Ha! I’m not a foot person by any means. In fact, it took me several years of conversation with my sister just to get a pedicure. And, man, did it feel good and strange at the same time.
That being said, the peeling of the skin just seems so satisfying. Kind of like when you were a kid and you put glue on your hand and waited for it to dry so you could peel it off and try to get one big long piece.
Still, if you’re willing to do it again, I’d call it a check in the self care column.

Yes, I’m nagging myself that I still haven’t gotten myself an actual foot-soaking tub. That would just be nice to have ANYWAY. I so miss a bathtub.

This was a weird post, haha! My husband has crazy soft feet because he wears socks all the dang time. I wear socks when it’s very cold but otherwise don’t and my feet are tough. But I don’t mind having tough feet so I just live with it.

Ha. Do I win Weird Post, too? That would make me so happy. But I bet (know) there are far weirder than this!
Yeah, I don’t SO care about my hard feet, I just wanted to do it cuz it looked so cool, ha ha. And I’m one of those crazy sunburn peelers. So this was right up my alley 🙂

I found an unsexy product that got rid of a painful callous for me in a couple of weeks. It’s called Kerasal Intensive Foot Repair. You just put it on the bad spot, then put your socks on over top of it and go. No soaking, and no peeling feet. They have it on Amazon. The callous that had bothered me for a year or more was gone. Just gone.
