Week in Review: Week 148
First week of the new year, woohoo (she said with little to no enthusiasm). Ha. I’m usually a little more “into” New Year’s. Not the night itself, but the start of a new year, new start, new promise, yadda yadda yadda. I’m not feeling too rah rah. My pom poms are still packed away somewhere…and now’s not the time to be UN-packing things.
That said, blog-wise I’m feeling sooper motivated! This is my year, I can just feel it! I’m gonna make good things happen! RAH RAH.
Anyway, back to This Week.
New Year’s Eve morning. COME ON!!! You know my battle-cry – SLOW DOWN, UNIVERSE!!! Please let us just enjoy one thing at a time!
New Year’s Day morning. A) Wow, warm. B) My car needs a cleaning.
Now, THOSE are TOTES!!!
A little New Year’s morning goodie after a solo photo shoot.
Not the usual New Year’s day activity, but hey.
First sunset of the new year.
I joined in with a THING. A MOVEMENT thing. It’s called #redjanuaryuk and it’s about helping your mental health through the dark days of winter by EXERCISING. I saw it on Best Before End Date‘s Instagram. The point is to do some kind of movement every day. Now, on the 6th day of January, I will say I’ve had a 50% success rate, but I’m going to keep trying! I can’t walk every day because I get painful shin splints really quickly. But Amazon Santa brought me a yoga mat and I’m going to be alternating indoor and outdoor activities. I’ll be sharing my attempts on my Instagram stories if you want to follow along – or join in yourself, using the #redjanuaryuk hashtag…and you can join in with me and Sharon and the other brave ladies by using hashtag #shazzashuffle.
Back to work on January 2.
Deli Button. What does that even mean???
Some scenes from my first walks…
LEOPARD DOOR!!!
I need this. Whatever it is.
Aiming for 20 minutes a day of something.
I just gave her fresh water!
Post-holiday dinner with friends.
Considering.
Buh-bye 2018 fridge.
Today, Sunday, I had tentative fun plans with friends…but I woke up feeling a little overwhelmed and behind on things so I opted to stay home and get caught up.
And if you’re really bored, I’m still doing my What I Wore This Week videos on YouTube. I think three or four people watch them but that’s okay. At least not that many people are witnessing my poor production quality while I’m just learning and figuring out. It’s better than a year ago but I never seem to be able to make the time to really learn the skills I need for better videos. Anyway, having low expectations means you’re less likely to be disappointed. That said, take a look if you want – it’s under 12 minutes.

Oh my goodness. #redjanuaryuk !!! I’m in the UK and had never even heard of it and what a great thing to do. I’m on it now, thank you xxx

We said the same thing when we went to Hobby Lobby (to get Christmas ornaments for 80% off) and saw the Valentine’s things out. It’s crazy, but it is the next holiday, I guess.
I’ve been doing yoga online. I started in October with another blogger as a challenge and love how convenient it is. Some days I just do a 10 minute practice, which makes me feel good yet isn’t too crazy in my busy day (ha ha). I enjoyed this site so much I even reached out to them to ask for a discount for my readers because I’m going to write a post about it at the end of the month. (I know…I should have gotten it out now, but we are styling workout wear at the same time, so I figured it fit with the theme for then). If you’re interested in checking them out, let me know. I’m not here to push it, but since you were talking about it, I thought I’d tell you.
We are working on videos more too…but it’s overwhelming to me. How do you do it all, Bettye??
XOXO

I remember reading about the yoga thing you were doing and intended to take a look. HELLO, NO TIME, FANCY MEETING YOU AGAIN. I don’t know that I AM “doing it all”! I’ve got IT ALL on a list, but….sigh. I’ll make a point of looking at it (yoga) this week. Seeing as now I have a new mat and all 🙂 I was actually considering that DDP Yoga, which isn’t really “yoga,” truly, but it looks like it gets results IF YOU DO IT (which is always my problem, ha ha).
That said, I’m out the door Right Now to meet a friend at a preserve for a little natury walk in daylight, so, LATER!
Nancy
Always lovely to read these posts! Have a great week ahead!

Oh jeez, how did that happen? I thought I had it scheduled for tomorrow (Monday) morning? OH. Today IS the 6th. Ha ha. I CAN’T KEEP UP!!!
Susan
Love your photos as usual. Thanks for all the great scenes!

Thanks, Susan. It’s so much nicer to walk in an area that’s interesting to look at vs just dark residential streets. I’m lucky to have these locations so close to me!

My daughter gave me a yoga mat when I visited her in early November. I’ve used it once. I seriously need to get my body moving – it’ll have to be slow – but MOVING.
Sounds like you’re off to a great start for 2019.

Did you see Jodie’s comment? Sometimes she just does 10 minutes, If you do 10 minutes, I’ll do 10 minutes.

My husband and I are “semi-retired”. We’ve been laughing at ourselves, because every morning this past week the first thing we say to each other….what day is it? Lots of company, adult kids visiting and my grandmother’s funeral has thrown us off kilter. Hopefully this coming week will help us get back to more of a routine.
Bettye, hope your week is a good one. 🤗
