Week in Review: Week 152
Whatta week! Not a very entertaining one for you guys, but chock-full for me!
I meant to add this pic to the punk post on Wednesday. I had these 80s earrings…but I just couldn’t do it.
The girl and her boy went hiking in Phoenix. I’m so glad she’s living an adventure-filled life.
We had a random snow squall one afternoon.
My boss brought her hamster Humphrey to school for the kids to see.
Stopped at the dollar store for shower curtain rings and look what I found, Jodie! I think I’m gonna go back for a couple more and just keep them in the car.
Last morning at the old apartment. Movers got there at 8:20am Saturday morning, and drove away from new apartment at 10:20. Amazing.
First sunset at new apartment. This is from the patio outside the door. I’m up on a hill and can see Mill Pond down below through the trees. A pair of bald eagles has a nest there. I’m not sure what the view will be like in the summer when the trees leaf out but for now it’s a nice welcome.
And first morning sky.
Day After Moving Day breakfast – brownie (thanks, mochi!), protein shake and Tylenol.
Janey window-spotting.
Janey and her shadow. Living room is in a state of flux. I’m looking for a sofa. I’m trying to sell the etagere. I’m not sure the old door will stay in the living room.
The apartment is overall a little dim…but it does get some nice moody light late in the afternoon.
One window has a sill wide enough for Janey to sit in and look out.
I had a little eye issue develop on Friday and just ignored it with the move ahead. I’m just one person, I had to be there for the movers. But I have an ophthalmologist appt tomorrow afternoon and hopefully it’s nothing serious. Maybe just stress!
Today I unpacked only the most crucial boxes…at a very slow pace. I’m pretty much toast…and if I had a sofa I’d be on it right now. I plan on just settling in this week, hopefully nothing big and dramatic will appear on the horizon. I would like a calm February universe, thank you very much.
My blogging schedule will continue to be light this week as I’ve been spending all my time packing and not photo shooting. I know you guys understand 🙂

So pleased you have completed your move, the new place looks spacious! Take it nice and slowly settling in and make sure you look after yourself!
bettyewp
Thanks so much, Lin! It’s interesting, while it SEEMS more spacious, the furniture that all fit nicely into the other place seems all crowded in here. I know a couple of things will be going and it will be better there. It needs a little breathing room.
Thanks for your concern and nice comments!
Sarah
I’m glad the move is behind you and you can now take your time settling into your new space – in no time you’ll have discovered all its beauty because that’s one of your gifts! I hope the eye issue is minor and passes quickly. Rest!

ME TOO! (glad move is behind me)
a) I’m not going blind, ha ha.
b) will reveal the eye story in a post later this week
How’s that cute puppy of yours??
Sarah
The puppy is great!! She’s so adorable. Now I’m a dog person? Glad you’re not going blind. 😵
bettyewp
In the beginning I wasn’t sure if it was yours! You were away on your trip and then there was a dog! I thought it might have belonged to the people you were staying with in…Scotland? Ireland? One of those lands 🙂

I can’t even believe you had the time to get this post out, Bettye. Yet you find the best photographs in that brain of yours.
I LOVE that you found that poncho. And a clear one, no less. And keeping it in the car is brilliant. Although the whole clear thing is so stylish…it could be an outfit…ha ha!!
So I don’t remember hearing…is this the place with the closet. The one you dreamed about?? Inquiring minds want to know??
XOXO

Clear poncho for the win!
Yes, this is the place from the dream. But Janey got lost in THEIR basement, which is through a door with, Mr Landlord said, a big workbench on the other side, so no real fear of Janey slipping in there.
I’m discovering some really lovely light here. Not in a “bright and airy apartment” way, but in glorious outside ways and little light leaks hitting the walls through the blinds. That’s the kind of stuff that feeds my soul, so…I’m very glad to see it.

I’m so happy that the big move is over with. I bet you are relieved!
Take good care of yourself this week. Hopefully as you said that the eye issue is stress related. 💕💕💕

That’s a very full week. I’m glad you’re being good to yourself. 🙂
Janey has that classic “curious cat” vibe! How exciting for her, and I’m sure, a bit draining for you both. Your view looks pretty fabulous. Take care! 🙂

Yes, Janey on her tippy toes looking out the window, very cute indeed! I’m not even PRETENDING to unpack anything tonight. I left work early to go to the eye doctor, then went to the old apartment to grab Mo Stuff and do the “broom clean” thing, then I zoomed home to try and do a quick shoot on the patio cuz it was a glorious day and the light was MAGICAL. I just edited the pictures and am about to reheat some dinner type something or other and then I’m headed to The Chair. The boxes will still be here tomorrow.
And the day after that.
YOU take care!
Iris
Wow – just wow – that you even posted this soon after moving and that you actually have furniture put somewhere proper. Did you choose not to move your sofa? Do try and relax some now – it will get done. Looks like Janey has found a spot and your view looks lovely.
What a treat to have a pair of eagles close by.
Thinking about you and still praying for peace.

Well, that wasn’t my sofa. It was in that apartment when I got there and was The Most Uncomfortable Sofa in All the Land. So I was certainly not schlepping it here. I know me, if I’d brought it, I never would have spent the money on another one and I’d continue to be miserable every night on it. This way I’m miserable enough sitting in a CHAIR to watch tv that I am Really Looking for something. I’ve responded to a couple ads online, but just like with the apartments, people don’t respond to you! Once I have a little more time I’ll start hitting some thrift stores for a sofa. And a new desk chair.

I’m like Jodie, have you looked behind that door yet? The one you had the dream about or is this a different place? I thought of you all weekend and I’m glad you’re settled in and it looks like a really pretty view which is so important in my book. And Janey has her own sill, another very important attribute. Ok, don’t worry about the posting schedule. We know what you’re up to and know you will catch us all up eventually!

Ha ha, yes, this is the apartment where Janey disappeared into the wall in my dream, but in the dream they’d left the door between my apartment and their basement open, and it was in THERE that she got into the walls. Now today, in real life, when I got home from work, no sign of little Janey. GAH. I was like IT’S ALL COMING TRUE! She stayed hidden for a good 15 minutes. she never does that. But I’m sure she was at least a little freaked out today being left alone all day in what is still a relatively strange place for her. Now she’s staying right on the desk with me.

Poor Janey! Cats get so stressed by moving, and it’s so traumatic for them. Glad she’s staying next to you. And the photo of Janey in the middle of the room is so cute. She’ll be fine after she settles in. Hopefully, so will you.
bettyewp
Ha ha, little Janey and her shadow. Not something I’ve seen too much! She’s still looking for Her Spot. Maybe once I find a sofa that will help her.
