Week in Review: Week 156
Hey, friends. Is there too much “reviewing” going on? At the beginning/end of the month I always feel like there’s a lot, cuz Week in Review comes right on the tails of Month in Review…or vice versa. Let me know if it’s too much and I’ll figure something else out. I just realized I never finished up/posted my 1 Second Everyday video for February. I do like that.
Anyway, this was last week…a little quiet on the heels of not feeling well last weekend, stayed home from work Monday…then took it easy the rest of the week.
Janey, not so much. She’s finally feeling comfortable enough that she’s exploring a bit. This is the weird 3/4 wall between the bedroom and kitchen. She must have gotten up there from the top of the fridge on the other side.
Just enough light…to see the kitty litter all over the floor! Ha ha. Didn’t see that til I uploaded the pic to the computer. I like it anyway. I do sweep that hallway incessantly.
Hey there, Light Dusting of Snow. You’re pretty and all, but not enough to keep me home from work, so what good are you?
I’m a Sun Dial. It’s 5:14pm.
Measure Zero, Return Once. Back to Amazon you go, Double Decker Spice Rack.
Hello, Fancy Sister Wife.
Right amount of snow; wrong day. WHATCHA SNOWING LIKE THIS ON A SATURDAY FOR?
Healthy breakfast. Seeing as how I can’t get out to get an egg sandwich and coffee.
Mmmm.
Are you Team Coffee or Team Tea? I play for both sidesΒ π
Snowy morning.
I GOT THE SOFA!!!
Before….
After (someone’s making herself at home).
Got out to a little local gallery that had a casual exhibit up. I liked seeing so many local artists, with prints just pinned on the wall, no frames, etc. It put everything on a more level playing field to me. Sometimes the print method or framing can set something apart even though the picture itself is not necessarily better than its neighbors. If I hear about this one next time they do it, I may submit some pictures.
Made a little stop on the way home.
Ahhh.
Expecting snow overnight, we already have a delayed opening for the morning.
Have a good week, everyone!
Nancy
We had spring last week with temperatures of 19 degrees. Absolutely amazing as we were in the UK! Have a good week Betty.

Nice. We had a fresh dumping of snow last night. No snow day however, so I’m about to slog my way to work now.

I like the reviews of the week. In fact, I was thinking of doing something similar because they are faster than doing a month at a time….I just don’t know when I’d fit it in…LOL!!
It’s too bad about that double decker spice rack…I have a couple and absolutely LOVE them. Your cabinets must be narrow??
I do like both coffee and tea. We have coffee in the mornings, and tea in the afternoon (decaf for me). Although lately I’ve been having just hot water instead. Lots of staining on the teeth I’ve noticed, and I’m seeing if that will help matters.
I’m glad Janey likes the couch. I just love seeing her ears in the before photo.
And of course you need to submit some of your photos to the art gallery!!! Could be another side hustle because you have so much time on your hands…ha ha!
XOXO

Yeah, I used to do Week in Review on Sunday, so the week was still open for outfitty posts. Why aren’t you posting SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, JODIE?? π
Yes, I’ve discovered the cabinets, while plentiful, are quite shallow. Sneaky buggers. I think I’m just going to get a second “single decker” the same size as the smaller one I already had, and separate out sweet (baking) spices from savory (cooking). In the last apartment I had a big upper corner cabinet with a GIANT double-decker lazy susan that EVERYTHING fit on. Sigh.
Janey ears. I swear I didn’t plan that. I stepped into position to take the photo, and she slipped in like, “whatcha looking at?”
I think I saw you’re doing olive and white today on your blog – YOU’LL NEVER GUESS WHAT I’M WEARING TODAY!!!
bettyewp
Yeah, that’s why I stopped the Sentence a Day – cuz between week in review and month in review I was really already covering it all…and I LIKE doing the week in review. It’s the month I was wondering about, if it was just too much. I’ll keep it for now and re-assess in the future. That’s my new philosophy for everything.
Did I already respond to this this morning? Ha. It’s been a weird day. I had to get up crackadawn as usual in CASE we were going to close the school, I post the announcement to Facebook and the website…but we just left it at delayed opening and I had to get moving earlier than usual to deal with getting out with all the snow. Then because it WAS a short day, it felt like a LONG day cuz I was expecting it to feel SHORT. If that makes sense.
Shutting up now.
Susan
I adore the Janey ears in the before photo too. They made me laugh out loud. I am so glad you got a new couch for Janey; I was concerned she might have to lick her privates on a chair! Quelle horror!
I like the timing of your reviews just fine, Bettye.
bettyewp
Janey Ears for the win! And yes, Janey took right to the new sofa for feline sanitation AND scratching. UGH. I got her a new big scratching post when I moved here so she wouldn’t claw the carpet. Zero interest. She’s much happier with the new big grey scratching post π
Marceline Miller
I’m kinda new here, but I’d have to say that there aren’t too many review posts! By the way, I really enjoyed your last post, month in review. So much to love in that post that I was a little breathless! LOL.
I’m devoted to both coffee and tea, but probably coffee more. A tea room recently opened in my nearest (small) town, which is kind of amazing. Haven’t gotten there yet.
I’m with everyone else and loving the Janey ears in that photo. Love, love, love the photo with the cross.
bettyewp
Glad you stopped by, Marceline – and what a pretty name! Ha, yeah, the February review was quite FULL! I think January was sort of a sad excuse for a month in review, so I guess it all works out. I’m tea&coffee, too, and always love visiting new coffee and tea shops!
It’s too bad the Janey ears weren’t in a better picture, overall. I can see a Christmas tree shot next December…the tree will go in the corner where the door/fairy lights are, and maybe I can recreate Janey ears in a view of that.
That church with the big cross by the water is near me, I drive by it a lot, but liked it yesterday with the leftover weekend snow and grey skies.
Don’t be a stranger!
Maggie
I’m glad to see you’re getting settled in, Bettye! I like all the review posts, no matter how close together!
bettyewp
Thanks, Maggie! When (if!?) it gets warmer, we’ll have to think about a mid-way meetup sometime!

So glad the couch came–even though it was a snowy weekend. Love the simple dark grey–you can embellish it with pretty pillows or throws in so many ways (if you want) . I tend to be more mimimalist, but wouldn’t pass up on a cozy colorful throw!
I like both weeks and months review–more for you to do, but as the weather improves there will likely be more outdoor goings on, so more pictures and activities to post!
We are expecting (more) arctic cold and snow tonight, so I can relate to the snow stuff. Can’t wait for this winter to be over!
bettyewp
I had this vision of styling the sofa with teal and mustard gold velvet pillows and a grey throw…then I noticed the sagey/olive green window trim in the room and…I don’t know.
Where are you with more snow on the way? I think it’s supposed to be very cold here the rest of the week but I don’t see anymore snow in the forecast this week.
Karen
Haha…Michigan, where some school districts around here have had 18-19 snow days this winter. Michigan legislature allows for 6 snow days, so it’s kind of a problem. They’re still hashing out what to do.
The governor of the state called a state of emergency in late January and asked residents to turn their thermostats down to 65 for a couple days to ensure enough natural gas for everyone.
We’ve had a lot of snow, arctic temps, a multi-day ice storm, and a major windstorm this winter. Just unheard of weather in all my years living in the mitten state, and we’re all used to snow here! π
bettyewp
Oofah. 18 snow days?? That’s my DREAM π

So enjoyable, relaxing, and pleasant to check in with you. Feels like a treat in the day – “I wonder what Bettye’s been up to?” and “I hope there are pictures with captions!” There are! Yay!
(No pressure…happy to have pictures sans caption, too.)
That sofa has lovely lines. Thumbs up ~!
And your sweet kitty enjoying the new sofa – she’s darling. π Her ears in the “Before…” photo!! Janey, I like you Kitty.
Happy place, this blog corner of the internet. I’m glad you’re being you here. And – I’ve been thinking about that neon green scarf. Every one of you seven ladies – I believe – said something along the lines of, “Neon’s not for me.” BUT…everyone looked pretty great in their neon. In fact, I *loved* that scarf on you. The brightness looked wonderful next to your hair and face. Apparently I loved that scarf so much that I will not stop going on about it in a post where it isn’t featured. π

Good night, Fancy Sister Wife. π

Awww, this made my day! Nice to know someone somewhere gives a you-know-what what I’m up to, even if we’ve never actually met. I LOVE BLOGGING!!! π
I’m SO in love with my sofa. There were a LOT of bad ones on CraigsList. A LOT. This one even kind of reminds me of my mother’s mid-century sofa, the clean, straight lines, the cushionless buttoned back. And it’s sturdy and comfy. Janey and I are really enjoying it!
I noticed that, too, about the neon post. We all think we CAN’T…but we CAN π
So glad you’re here π

Love the sundial photo! Well all the photos but that one reminded me that I can tell the time with the sun. My dad was a boy scout leader and I wanted to be a boy scout so I read the manual and learned everything the boys did. I was even taught survival camping by my dad. But the most fun thing is I can tell you what time of day it is anytime the sun is shining. Well within the hour at at least. Ha ha. Another fun post!
Peace!
Cheryl

That’s a great skill to have!
