Workday Wardrobe ~ Dec 2-6, 2019
This was not a fashiony week At All. It was a “just get some clothes on my body so I can leave the house” week. So set your expectations WAY low. Also, sunset’s like five minutes after I get home now so I took all my ootds in the living room. Ugh. Maybe next week I’ll get it together enough to get my tripod out to the car and do pictures during lunch. Maybe.
MONDAY
It’s cold and snowy. Icky. Wanted to be warm and not have to worry about sloshing through snow or puddles in light-colored shoes or pants.
Pink turtleneck is from Nordstrom brand BP last winter – you saw it here. Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans. Skecher sneakers.
TUESDAY
More cold. More slushy slop. My new fave black turtleneck you just saw here. A different Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jean than yesterday. Skechers, check. Six-year-old Lands End primaloft coat. Thrifted leopard scarf.
WEDNESDAY
The mirror pics always look a little distorted to me. Finally not so cold today so my neck could be exposed. On cold days I want something around my neck. Anyway, this chestnut brown poncho sweater from Ellos.com is still available. I’m wearing a 1x. It’s very oversized. Guess what shoes.
THURSDAY
Don’t even ask. The indoor pictures bore me so I need to find ways to amuse myself. Grey cardigan from Charlotte Russe, white tee from Amazon’s Daily Ritual brand (I’m wearing a 4x), Old Navy jeans (I’m in a 24 short), and my pink velcro Vans (discontinued). It was practically balmy today! My hair is Out of Control.
FRIDAY
Made it to Friday! White Old Navy jeans (24 short), Me Too taupe loafers (LOVE these), old blue chambray buttondown and mushroom/taupe cardigan from Old Navy (discontinued).
When I see something I like on a blogger and it says the item is sold out or discontinued, I go immediately to Poshmark and ebay and create a search for the item and set an email notification in case something of that description gets listed.
I’m a little sartorially frustrated right now, as I have several nice outfits with no accompanying shoes or legwear. I have tried on so many ankle boots in the past few weeks, with zero success. And it’s been too cold to wear flats with bare legs…without looking like a dumb bunny. I might brave it this weekend for a blog outfit, but that’s just a few minutes. Anyway, the net is…kinda boring work outfits. But…that’s real life!

Your “dumb bunny” comment made me laugh 😁 but also made me stop and think. I need to buy some tights so I’m not out and about like a dumb bunny, LOL 😂

Yeah, the cream tight hunt continues for me. Ugh. Perfectly good outfits hanging there in the closet that I can’t wear cuz TIGHTS.

So funny you should say this, I JUST commented the other day on Samantha’s Fake Fabulous post that I am so NOT a sock person, I NEVER wear socks! They’re too hard to get on, the toe seams get crooked and bug me, the heels slip down inside my shoe and I have to take them off and start all over again and they’re too hard to get on….you get the picture. I have two pair right now. One, a fuzzy indoor pair for super cold days…and other, a pair of very thin silk socks for super cold outdoor days…mostly if I’m going to be standing outside for a long time. For just going house, car, work, car, store, car, home…I can’t be bothered with a sock.

I really like Thursdays outfit and your hair colour and style are great. I totally agree with your previous post, the issues you discussed are very relevant to me as a postmenopausal woman.

Thanks, Cheryl!

I think your personality rises above the outfits!

Thanks, Nancy!

I look like the Sta-Puft guy when it’s cold outside and fashion is the furthest thing from my mind at that point. Skechers is my go-to for sneakers and casual shoes (and it’s not deliberate but I tend to gravitate to them every time). Love the pink sweater on you a lot and that poncho sweater is neat. And your Thursday picture is the cutest! Your hair looks really really nice in it. And I love the glasses on you.

Ha ha, yeah, I hear you. Form follows function. It’s no good looking cute if you’re freezing. Usually. Ha. There are exceptions 🙂
