Work from Home Wardrobe ~ May 4-8
MONDAY
I knew I wasn’t planning to go anywhere today but I did have an online meeting first thing in the morning and it was supposed to be warm. Figured The Nightgown Dress was the next best thing to nightgown. This is one of two nightgown dresses I have – both light blue, loose-fitting, Tencel dresses. I think it has a lot to do with the light blue color. That seems like such a nightgown color to me. PS: It was not so warm!
TUESDAY
Damn. I just (Friday) realized I must have deleted these pictures off the camera without downloading them. I couldn’t have sworn I’ve seen them on the computer, but…OH WELL WHATEVER.
WEDNESDAY
Never got dressed today. But I am thinking about fun, springy clothes.
ATLANTIC-PACIFIC FLORAL SMOCKED UTILITY DRESS
Oh my gosh, how cute is this dress?! Funny how much more I’m drawn to color in spring and summer! I would wear this with little white tennis shoes and maybe a little coral cropped cardigan (A+ for alliteration!).
THURSDAY
This was my Big Day Out: work, grocery store, pharmacy. This is the infamous “invisible” black dress, as good as ever. This was a test run of this jacket from Madewell. I’ve wanted a “liner” jacket like this ever since I saw one last time. I don’t know if they still makes jackets like this, but when I was a kid, jackets came with a liner you could zip in or out for extra warmth. That lining was very plain, thin, and lightly-padded. Well, now it’s A Thing to wear those “liners” AS jackets. I’d previously bought and returned two. But I thought maybe third-time would be a charm, so I gave this one a try.
It’s a little shinier than I thought it would be, but other than that I like the jacket itself. I love the color, the boxy shape, the collarless neckline, and big patch pockets. But it is a little large on me. You can’t see it that much in this picture, but the sleeves are long (though I don’t mind a cuffed sleeve on a jacket like this), and, more importantly, it’s too big in the shoulders. Not horribly so. But a little. I just don’t know if a size down would be too small. The other issue is the length. I like the length, but I won’t really wear a cropped jacket with jeans because most of shirts are longer than this (and I don’t tuck. Not yet, anyway). And I don’t know that it warrants keeping if it’s only going to go over a couple dresses.
So, while I like it, I am on the fence about it.
FRIDAY
Oops. Got dressed just to go to a Zoom Cocktail Party and got undressed immediately after and forgot to take a picture.
Wow, that was the worst Work from Home Wardrobe EVER. At least it a was a quick read? Now you can move onto something more satisfying, like not going anywhere!

How is it I’ve never heard of liner jackets?? Where have I been?
I bet that’s perfect for you…not so hot, yet it is a jacket.
I really like it at least with the dress. And you do have quite a few dresses, so even if you only wear it with dresses, it might be a good buy. And the color on you is fabulous!!

Yeah, where ya been, Jodie?! 🙂 https://www.gq.com/gallery/liner-jackets-for-fall
I wore it again this morning for erranding. I guess I’m keeping it 🙂 It IS the perfect weight jacket for me (ie, practically nonexistent) and has THE best pockets ever.
Today I wore it over a light sweater and it didn’t feel or look as “too big” as it did the other day over the sleeveless dress (which makes sense).
It’s a keeper!!!

I love your ‘nightgown dress’. It looks so comfty and you could wear most any kind of sweater over it. I’m going to have to look for one of those.
