Work from Home Wardrobe ~ June 8-12
No theme this week. Just dressing on a whim.
MONDAY
I dressed to shoot my “column dressing” post…and just left this on when I went out for a bagel. Not exciting but it did the job.
TUESDAY
Dressed for sitting on the patio much of the day watching work webinars…and to make a post office run.
This is my hunt’n’thrift dress that I searched for on resale venues for two years after trying it on in PlusBklyn and loving it but not buying it. Because I was buying my beloved Junarose dress and to buy two dresses at one time was unthinkable. THEN. I have since gotten over that mental and fiscal hurdle. Anyway, I almost immediately regretted it but by the time I committed to buying it, it was gone. So I stalked eBay and Poshmark for two years thinking eventually it would pop up. And it did! My size, new with tags still on, for like a quarter of the original price!!! Interestingly, in my years of patient watchfully waiting, I never did see the other Junarose dress. I always thought I’d grab a spare just in case.
WEDNESDAY
Met my friend after work at the library. Parking lot. Where there’s some grass. These are interesting times.
This is the dress I don’t like as much as the other dress that’s almost exactly like it. So I wear this when there’s a greater potential for getting dirty. As there was today. The white linen blouse from J. Jill gets worn 97 times during the summer. It goes over everything: white tees, dresses, bathing suits. If I had a skirt I’d wear it over that.
THURSDAY
Thought I’d give you a different view in the apartment. A messier view, ha ha. That door photo left is to their side of the basement. Her gym is right on the other side, and there’s a laundry room and his work-room, which I have never seen. They leave my mail right on their side of that door (which I keep locked from my side) and they text me so I know to open the door I get it. It always feels a little weird, but. It is what it is.
This was yesterday. I already can’t remember what I did. Maybe I didn’t go anywhere. I was working on the Where Bloggers Live pictures and post right up until I went to bed.
FRIDAY
Had to go into the office today to do a couple things. To make me happy I wore my favorite dress. I cannot even explain how LIGHT this dress is! My nightgowns aren’t this light! That’s a big part of what’s so wonderful about wearing it. You feel like you have just a whisp of a cloud around you. I always feel good in this dress.
Well, it is Friday evening of a 3-day weekend (for me). I’m in my nightgown and I’m gonna get in bed soon and read til I’m falling asleep.
I guess I can take another theme for next week. Anyone? Anyone?

I think all your outfits this week are awesome! Even though we are now in winter, which is my happy favourite season, I’m getting really inspired for when Spring and Summer return.

I am giving you inspiration for outfits. I have been getting hooked on you tube videos and I started following : Sisters n Stitches and they have some videos of ootd with the inspiration that they used to make up their outfits. They chose different colors, patterns etc to dress by. I don’t know if you are familiar with them, but I like to watch them!

Thanks, Shirley, I will definitely take a look!
Used to watch quite a bit of youtube, but it seems like some of my favorites have just…disappeared…some during Covid-19 but some from before that. And it’s hard to find someone new you like as much. It’s like making new friends.

Just wondering what you use for skin care and beauty. I’ve been following you awhile and quite enjoy your sense of humour.

Thank you, Debbie! So glad you decided to say hi 🙂
I’m not much of one for skincare or beauty (I guess we’re talking about make-up??). I barely do anything, though I’ve been thinking for awhile about doing a blog post about makeup for people who don’t really wear makeup, ha ha. I’ll move it higher up on The List 🙂
Debbie
You are the first blog I have ever commented on and I’ve been following fashion blogs for about ten years.
For someone who does ‘nothing’, I would say you are a natural beauty. I was wondering about makeup as well as your skin care routine.
I also work in a school. I am a school secretary.
bettyewp
Well, I’m flattered 🙂
Oh gosh, natural beauty, now I’m blushing! I will definitely do a post on makeup and…my non-routine routine.
Are you working from home now?

You look really good in all of the dresses, that pale blue is certainly your colour.

For someone who never LOOKS for a blue dress, I sure have a lot of them!

I need more light dresses like that now that we live here in AZ. What is the material composition?? My silk pants I just bought are like nothing wearing them. I asked for a pair like that from my next Fashom box, because nothing is good in 100 degree heat!!

If I said it’s cotton, I stand corrected. I just checked the label to make sure…and it’s actually 100% viscose. I have other rayon things in my closet and they do not feel like THIS. I suppose there are different ways of treating the same fabric…?
Do you not like linen? I love loose lightweight linen in the heat.

You have the best collection of dresses, my friend! So many great prints and colors! I love them all!
