Week in Review: Week 232
monday
Picture of the day (that I didn’t take). Imagine, if you will…driving on a narrow, winding, hilly road…and you come around a curve and there’s an uphill driveway on your left, the base of which is bordered on the side by about a 2′ stone wall…and in front of the wall there are four tiny matching chairs lined up side-by-side. Pink. Yellow. Light Blue. Pale green.
It’s the most charming thing you’ve seen in days. But you can’t stop on a narrow, winding, hilly road and you’re on your way to work so you can’t go back and try to figure out how you can get a picture. So you just store it in your memory. And try to paint a picture of it in the minds of your friends on the blog.
Maybe I’ll try and paint it for real sometime. HA HA HA HA HA.
tuesday
Work. Finance day. copy scan file unstaple restaple checkmark initial alphabetize copy scan file.
Met Friend for dinner at our favorite TUESDAY LOBSTER SPECIAL place that we try to get to at least twice a summer. It’s challenging because Other Friend doesn’t eat seafood.
It was so good we almost ordered a third dinner to split! We managed to not…and got dessert and fancy coffees instead. Then took a little stroll down to the water.
wednesday
I have no idea what I did this day. Worked.
OH – made an appointment with a local seamstress. I’m meeting her Monday after work to show her my half-a-dozen-ish things that need alterations so she can give me a quote. Woohoo.
thursday
ANOTHER power outage. At work this time. We sat in the dark for an hour and once the kids were all gone they said we could leave.
friday
Worked from home half a day, had a couple personal hours still coming to me that needed to be used (or losed) before September. I kinda had a plan for the afternoon and then UGH. Not to go into too much detail, but had a big disappointment then people were mad at me and it was just UGH. So I ended up on the sofa with my eyes closed for the afternoon.
saturday
Slept LATE. Got up and moved to the sofa with a cat and a book.
Even the cat is mad at me.
sunday
Slept late again. Slightly productive. Placed an Instacart order. Did some work work.
OH. Seamstress lady texted to cancel. Said her hands hurt too much from sewing a lot of masks lately, which, okay…but our appt tomorrow wasn’t about sewing, it was just to get a quote. Anyway, I’m thinking she just doesn’t want to do it so I’m back to square one.
I’m sorta running on empty right now. I know others are, too. I wish I could say the coming week will be better.
Hope it’s better for you.

I really think everyone is quite . . . frayed right now.

That’d be nice, thanks 🙂

Well, that is SO disappointing about the seamstress. I was getting so excited for you.
I bet you get the best seafood where you live. That’s something I would take advantage of for sure.
Big virtual hug!!

Yeah, the search starts anew. Guh.

Delicious seafood and terrific sunset photo. Sleeping late and then continuing to rest on the couch sound like perfect things to do on a lazy weekend. Cute picture in the mirror with the flash reflecting back on you.
I have struggled to find someone here in El Paso to do alterations for me. Seamstresses seem to be few and far between.
