Where has the time gone? Where has my birthday gone?

MONDAY

Monochrome day. Worked from home so open toes were allowed.

Sweater: Ellos cashmere, size 3x. Sold out. Comparable here and here.
Pants: Old Navy, size 24 short
Slides: Birkenstock Madrid Hex Sandal in cognac

TUESDAY

Look! I’m dressing like fall and it’s still September! This is some kind of record! Am I the only one who remembers “Indian Summer” (am I allowed to say that?) and starting school after Labor Day and just broiling in the classroom the first few weeks of school??

Blouse: Loft, sold out. Comparable here.
Cardigan: Old Navy camel longline, size 2x. These are back in stock, the fine knit rayon/cotton ones that I wear all the time. Available right now in this camel, olive green, and black.
Pants: J Crew 4-way Cameron pant, navy, size 24
Shoes: DSW Kelly&Katie Jordi loafers

WEDNESDAY

Nothing fancy today. Work from home. Cool. Came outside to check on the chipmunk goodies. Cashews are gone, apples are untouched.

Top: Belk True Craft waffle knit henley, size 3x – still FIVE DOLLARS, not that you should buy something just because it’s cheap but if you were looking for an easy casual top for fall, you’re welcome.
Pants: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Callisto wash, size 22 short, self-cropped
Shoes: Vionic leopard Relax slippers

THURSDAY

Doing some test runs on a couple things I keep thinking I want to let go of. I love the striped Old Navy dress in theory, but I always feel like it needs a little something else. I don’t want to seem so…planned…as a scarf (not yet, anyway) and I still don’t have The Long Pendant Necklace that I Just Know Will Level Up My Entire Wardrobe…and I’m not belty. Plus, it’s old and dingey…it probably looks fine in pictures, but in person, the black has bled slightly into the white from washing. I just haven’t been able to commit to letting it go. But, silver lining! I spilled a little coffee on it yesterday and if that spot won’t come out, that will push me over the edge and let it go. That’s me, always looking on the bright side HA HA HA HA HA.

And this is one of those three Rainbow duster cardigans I’ve had for years (don’t you love how I refer to my wardrobe like you all know it like the back of your hand?), that, again, I like in theory, because the colors are good (I have this wine one and also rust/red, and olive green) and I like the fit – they’re thin with slim-fitting sleeves (I think baggy sleeves are one of those things that can make an otherwise good item/outfit look schlubby). But…they’re sort of cheap…and again, they probably look fine in photos, but when I wear them I always feel like the quality looks poor. So, I’m letting the green one go cuz I really never wore that one as much as the others…and I’m keeping the wine/rust ones for now but I’m actively looking for better-quality replacements.

Dress: Old Navy, size 3x, old.
Cardigan: Rainbow Shops, size 2x, old. Comparable in straight size here and plus and straight size here.
Sneakers: Keds Champions in canvas

FRIDAY

Looking windblown after dinner with a friend, outside on a chilly evening. I fear dining out during the week will not be a thing for much longer. I’m really not feeling it about sitting inside restaurants with people talking and eating without masks. And at some point it will just be too cold to comfortably sit outside in the evening. Think of all the money I’ll save.

Apparently I am the new Queen of the Bright Side.

Sweater: Grey Catherine Malandrino cashmere crewneck, 3x. Available in like every color but grey, here.
Pants: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Callisto wash, size 22 short, self-cropped
Sneakers: Keds Champions in canvas

Yay. Friday.
