Plus Size Outfit of the Day ~ Jan 16-22
Seven plus-size work and work-from-home outfits.
SATURDAY
I took an actual picture of this on Saturday, I know I did. And yet…it’s nowhere to be found. So here’s a screengrab of the tiktok video.
I was sort of a hot mess that day cuz rain.

SUNDAY
Someone on TikTok said this look was “drip.” That’s good, right??
This is my “I want to look nice in the city BUT we’re also going to be doing a lot of walking and I don’t want to turn into a puddle (of sweat)” outfit of the day.

No-work holiday. Woop woop. On the computer all the livelong day.

TUESDAY
Back to work in the office. As winter drags on (and really, it practically just started!) I’m getting weary of my clothing options. It’s especially difficult when you’re trying to share your Outfit of the Day with the world and you’re trying to not repeat items that often cuz yawn for me AND them.
So here is a rare Pop of Color for me. I love this red plaid blouse but I usually wear it under a pullover so you only get a glimpse of the bold color at the collar, cuffs, and in the shirttails peeking out the bottom.
Red/black/white is one of the most strident contrasts to me. I know it’s popular but I just have a hard time in it so rarely wear it and when I do I always feel a little uncomfortable, like I want to change into something beige as soon as possible.
Is everyone this affected by clothing colors??
- Buttondown: Sanctuary, size 3x
- Cardigan: Old Navy Open-Front Long-Line rayon/cotton cardigan, 2x
- Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Crystal White, size 20 short.
- Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons (boy, these have been the MVP of the year for me!)
WEDNESDAY
Work from home. Not leaving the building. Listening to inauguration. Got a rope to jump after work.
My world has gotten so small.
- Tee: Teesprings shirt from Mental Health Movement dot com, size 5xl, woohoo
- Leggings: Old Navy High-Waisted Power Something 7/8 Length Flippy Dippy Super Stretchy Leggings with Pocket, size 3x
- Feet: Mine.
THURSDAY
Back in the office today. I haven’t worn this sweater in awhile. I tend to wear so many rich, spicy, autumnal colors in the fall, that by the time New Years comes I’m sort of over them and lean towards a cooler palette.
But I’m feeling such a shortage of thin-to-lightweight knits right now (as I ALWAYS do at this time of year! There aren’t enough lightweight knits in the world for me!) that I pulled it out anyway.
I know these things might seem petty but they’re honestly the thoughts I have when putting outfits together.
Anyway, I wanted to break up the “autumn” feel, so added the white button-down underneath. The v-neck on the sweater is a little large for this but…THERE AREN’T ENOUGH PROPERLY-SIZED NECK-HOLES IN THE WORLD FOR ME.
One more thing to add to my headstone.
For someone who’s not planning on HAVING a headstone, I sure have a lot of things to write on one.
- Sweater: Ave & Viv/Target lightweight knit v-neck, size 3x
- Button-down: Loft Plus Utility Tunic, size 3x, no longer available.
- Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Scottsdale wash, size 20 short
- Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons
FRIDAY
FRIDAY. Comfy Friday.
Don’t HAVE to go anywhere, but might run out after work for a coffee and a sunset.
This feels coffee and sunset appropriate.
- Sweater: Cream Ellos.com cashmere v-neck, 3x. Comparable here.
- Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Callisto wash, size 20 short
- Sneakers: Canvas Keds Champions
And that week’s a wrap! I finally have a couple new items whooshing their way to me right now, hopefully some of them will work out and I can start wearing some of the colors I’m craving right now!

Now we have to learn a new language?? Drip?? I had heard fleek, but not drip, LOL
BTW, love the red plaid on you…color really looks great. AND I just read an article about it from someone who has been researching joy: https://ideas.ted.com/scared-of-too-much-color-in-your-life-learn-to-let-go-of-your-fear-and-find-more-joy
New commenting platform?? I might need to know the specifics??

The blog looks very clean and professional. I really liked the black and white walking away photo. And I love the outfit with the red plaid and the autumnal one. I rarely wear pull over sweaters because I get too hot. Guess I need to kilo ok for lightweight ones.
