Week in Review: Week 267
Grateful for a smoother-feeling week.
MONDAY
What a day! WHAT A DAY! First thing this morning, my FAVORITE BL drama announced the premiere date of their season 2…which has been getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back to the point that we thought it might not EVER happen. If you remember when I talked about I Told Sunset About You back in January, the series with the LONGGGINNNGGG…this is that. The new one is called I Promised You the Moon and I am SO EXCITED but also nervous because so often sequels just do not compare to the originals, especially when they were as extraordinary as I Told Sunset About You.
Then this afternoon McDonalds announced they would be offering a BTS MEAL starting May 26…and BTS Twitter EXPLODED! The MEMES! I’ve been CRYING! I don’t think McDonalds knows what’s going to happen when BTS Armies start showing up asking for their Namjoon Burger, Taehyung Tea, and Hobi Mustard. And…WHERE’S MY PHOTO CARD?!? Oh it’s a whole other world in BTS land. I feel for you, McDonalds, I really do. But you brought this on yourself.
And oh yeah, I don’t think I screwed anything up at work today. Two points for me.
TUESDAY
A little calmer today, ha ha. THERE WAS JUST SO MUCH BIG NEWS YESTERDAY!!!
My big Adventure du Jour was dropping clothes off at the dry cleaner.
I’M LIVING THE DREAM, PEOPLE.
And not just ANY dry cleaner, but a NEW (to me) dry cleaner. AND, are you sitting down? I dropped off a new blouse cuz it needed an additional button and buttonhole. And if all goes well, I might bring in a pair of pants for hemming. It was a little rocky, he’s Korean and we had some language, uhm, challenges…he kept saying “button” and I was like “and buttonhole.” He said “button” and I said “AND BUTTONHOLE.” So. Let’s hope there’s a button AND an accompanying buttonhole.
You know how they say your taste buds change every seven years? I’ve really never noticed this before, and I’ve been around for a lot of “every seven years-es.” But lately, my salty and sweet sensitivities are Through. The. Roof. I’m typically the QUEEN of Sweet and Salty, and now, I can’t even. Doritos, so salty I can barely stand them. Pizza, so salty I can’t even finish the slice, I feel like I’m drinking ocean water. M&Ms give me heart palpitations. I just had a Rice Krispy Treat out of the vending machine (like clockwork, if I don’t have meat in the morning, I’m hungry and have food cravings all day) and it was Just So Sweet. Unpleasantly so. I mean, none of this is BAD (unless this is symptomatic of something I’m unaware of). It just feels so EXTREME. Anyone ever experience anything like this??
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday: An Uneventful Day. Grateful.
THURSDAY
My car got a pat on its dashboard this morning cuz I had a moment of OH NO WHAT IF IT DOESN’T START but it did. Grateful for it taking me everywhere I want it to.
If now I could just get the new registration sticker on the windshield. It expired end of February and the new one is stuck under the passenger side visor.
Will I EVER be a real adult??
I don’t think so.
FRIDAY
An uneventful day. Work was quiet. Always grateful for that.
BUT….(drumroll please), after taking two days off from jumping rope cuz for some reason all of a sudden I couldn’t get past 5 jumps in a row without hitting, UGH…I got to 49! DAMN! Once I hit 40 I was like I CAN DO THIS I CAN GET TO 50. But I hit the rope at 49. The fronts of my shins were on FIYUH. Tingle burn, whatever that means. Still. Excited to be closer to 50. I’m gonna get there.
When I started in October I couldn’t do more than 4 in a row. Literally. Four. So proud.
SATURDAY
Got the heck outta Dodge for the day. It was a beautiful day and a friend and I went out to my favorite place, Peconic River Herb Farm. I usually get there 1-2 times a year. It’s such a nice place to just stroll around, admiring the charming vignettes they have arranged. My favorite part is sitting on the wooden swing overlooking the Peconic River. I sat there long enough this time to get a little face sunburn while I caught up with my friend.
After that. lunch outside under an umbrella. We split a softshell crab sandwich and cajun tuna sandwich. I love when sharing works out cuz sometimes it’s hard to settle one thing. Also, eating outdoors is one of my favorite things and I’m glad that really became A Thing due to covid.
For a couple looks back to past visits at Peconic River Herb Farm:
SUNDAY
A whole lotta nuthin today. Got deli breakfast sandwich. Had big plans for cleaning apartment HA HA HA HA HA and getting the week’s blog posts done in advance KEKEKEKEKE. I think when I turned 60 I lost all my vim and vigor for Getting Sh*t Done.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
I am currently OB. SESSED. with this song. It’s Jeon Jungkook of BTS singing the cover of a song If You originally by BigBang. This is him on his own singing on a Korean TV singing competition show called King of Masked Singer. It’s actually kind of a funny premise. The singers are masked when they perform on the show so none of the judges or audience know who they are. This was a few years ago when Jungkook was only 20 and BTS wasn’t the huge deal they are now. I believe there’s an American version of the show now called The Masked Singer.
Ha ha ha ha.
ANYWAY. OMG His VOICE. The RANGE. If you don’t want to listen to the whole song (but please do), start at 3:06. It’s the voice of an angel.
Also, I want to point out that this is live, not studio with studio magic. His voice is just so CORRECT. Sorry, I feel personally responsible for making sure they are well-presented 🙂
That’s all I got this week. You?

I actually laughed out loud with the buttonhole. I’m waiting with baited breath!!! Make sure to keep us in the loop.
BTW, the change of tastes is interesting. I know since we’ve given up sugar, just walking down the candy aisle is awful….you can smell the sugar almost as much as smelling the cleaning supplies (and this is with masks on, haha).

The herb farm sounds fantastic! I haven’t heard about the series, but you sound so excited about it. I’m glad the sequel is releasing.

But how can I watch I Told Sunset About You??? Sounds amazing!

“But how can I watch I Told Sunset About You??? Sounds amazing!”
Okay. I wish there was a simple answer to this, ha ha. SO MANY of the BL dramas, especially the Thai ones, are shown in broken up segments. Like Part 1 1/4, Part 1 2/4, Part 1 3/4, you get the idea. I think it has something to do with people are only allowed to upload videos of certain lengths (like 15 minutes)..? So a 4 episode show (so, 4 hours long), might actually be in 16 parts. Oh good lord. Ha. If that’s not enough to put people off…just wait. It gets better.
I’m using I Told Sunset About You (ITSAY) as an example of many Asian dramas but I watch so many shows now that are in this format, so…
Know that many different users will upload the same shows…some will be better quality than others, so look at a couple to find the best one. Some will have English subtitles, some will not. Some will post all the parts of the episodes, some will be missing like one part, ugh, that’s so annoying.
They are also shown on many different sites – some are sketchy and I know people use them, but…I do not. I only use the safe, more mainstream (relatively speaking) sites like DailyMotion.com and LineTV.com. These are both free. I have a couple subscription-based sites as well (Viki.com, which is like Asian Netflix) but I’m assuming you don’t want to pay.
PHEW that was a long answer to one question. This is the first (2) parts of ITSAY on DailyMotion, which is where I have watched it (REPEATEDLY). https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7x03fz
If you do watch, do not be put off by the first scene. It’s really cringey and I almost stopped there. I’m grateful I powered through and finished it.
The sequel is going to be on LineTV.com in May (OH MY GOD IT’S ALMOST MAY).
Sorry to be so long-winded about this…and the show certainly may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I would love knowing that I shared it with someone else who also loved it. Let me know if you watch!
