It’s Not Quite Spring Yet
I am SO WEARY of my winter clothes at this point. How about you?? I am So Eager to start wearing lighter fabrics, softer colors…and The Holy Grail of warm weather – Dresses with Bare Legs!!!
I really gave it the old college try one day last week with this cute Tolani tunic, via Gwynnie Bee. It’s a lightweight rayon navy fabric with a pattern-mixing print – so cute!! Over it, I wore a lightweight navy cardigan I got last summer from H&M, and of course my all-year-round white Gloria Vanderbilt jeans!
It made a nice springy outfit…but the day turned so windy and cold, that by the time I was shooting after work I was freezing!!! The day before had gone up to the low-60s and I was tricked into thinking it was safe to go back into the water.
Thank goodness I’d grabbed my pink scarf as I ran out the door in the morning – it saved the day!
This morning I was back in a chunky knit turtleneck and grateful for it! Warm weather will be here soon enough – until then I’d rather be cozy than unprepared.
Okay, in an effort to change things up a bit in the photos, I was trying to LEAP. See the INCH my left foot is off the ground?? That’s me leaping 🙂
Don’t try that at home, kids.
Maybe Next Week there will be a true spring outfit, without me going into hypothermia. Fingers crossed.

I made the optimistic error of wearing my dress bare-legged yesterday. You’re right, it’s not quite spring yet! I was freezing. Love the top and the combo with the cardigan and scarf! Great outfit. The leap had me LOL, glad no injuries were sustained!

Ooh, you were BRAVE! Hopefully in another couple weeks. We can make it!!!

Ok, next week let’s see more leaping! Just kidding! I wouldn’t do that either myself though I often have to leap (or really reach ground) when I climb over a fence and have to throw myself into the air to reach the ground! Have you changed comment plug ins lately? Two things are different: One, I have to sign in every time I comment and two, I used to get your replies to my comments in my WordPress comment box but now the only way to see what you replied to me was to go back to the original post. So, I know I’m missing a lot of Bettye wisdom that way! Have a super duper Tuesday!

Yeah, I have decided No More Solo Leaping. It’s probably a little dangerous. Look at me, all responsible and adulty (of course, only AFTER “leaping”).
Haven’t changed any plug-ins, but WP did an automatic version upgrade earlier this week, so I’ll see what I can do. CAN’T HAVE ANYONE MISSING BETTYE WISDOM! Ha.

You crack me up Bettye. Don’t try this at home…ha ha!!
I am ready for spring too. I’m not sure if going to AZ helped or made me want it more….ugh!!
It’s the sandals thing for me. I’m impatient and wanting to break them out!!
XOXO

Do you still have snow on the ground in Denver?? I’m sure it was hard to come back from AZ. Soon.
SOON.

I l-o-v-e this outfit!
That expression on your face as you were “leaping” is fabulous — that photo is definitely a keeper! 😊

Ha, I don’t know what I was thinking! There was slippery goose poop everywhere. I should only try to LEAP when I have an ACTUAL photographer with me, to help me up when I fall. I coulda poked an eye out.

LOVE the outfit and the leap pic! Spring is around the corner and I’ve had enough of the snow and cold and am impatient too. In the meantime, that cozy pink scarf was a great accent piece. Went so well with the top and sweater. I may have to come out of my shell and try scarves for fun.

Scarves are SO fun! They’re inexpensive and even if you’re a spazz and can’t tie them in fancy ways (like me) you can always just drape them around your neck for some warmth and color.

I love this fabulous tunic that you wore over the white jeans. It is so fresh and feels so much like the optimistic spring season. But I am very glad that you layered and stayed warm. Have a wonderful week ahead !

I’m glad I thought for once to do the sensible thing and grab the scarf before I headed out!
Hope you have a peaceful week, Elle.
