Wow, I’m almost to my 200th Week in Review. I realized a couple weeks ago that I’d hit my 500th blog post. Woohoo.

This week, Monday-Friday was werkwerkwerkwerkwerk. Work has several projects that have GOT to be completed before the holiday break (this coming Friday is the last day before the break), so there are a LOT of loose ends right now, and the accompanying anxiety.

We had a little more snow. Not enough for a snow day, but…it was pretty.

It’s nice to be able to see the pond again. And the sunsetty sky.

Went to a couple local art gallery exhibits Saturday night.

This feels like me trying to put on tights. And any of you who know me in real life, know this room looks EXACTLY like the living room in my house (the one Katie grew up in).

Went to lunch at a cute place in Astoria.

Then stopped for coffee at a dog cafe.

Where there was, literally, a Mickey Mouse themed dog’s birthday party happening. That’s the birthday boy with his head cut off.

Then to LuminoCity on Randall’s Island. It was brrrry cold and windy!

From the jaws of death, I wave to you.

Lucky Cat! My favorite!

Lucky Cat, Panda Waterfall and Unicorn were my favorites.

And now it is Sunday night and I have the day off tomorrow (yay) but have an ambitious To Do List…

MONDAY TO DO
* Shoot two outfits for this week
* Make shopping list to make chocolate bark for work holiday gifts
* Go to the market
* Get two little trees for pots outside (maybe)
* Find Christmas decorations
* Write Tuesday blog post
* Assess Christmas gift lists
* Find passport paperwork, make appt for next week
* Call student loan co
* Check checking account to make sure all returns have been refunded

It’s a day off, but not a day OFF. Katie is flying in crackadawn Wednesday morning and is coming over that evening for us to go get a tree and decorate it, so I have to have all that dug out and organized, ribbons ironed, lights untangled, etc. And I want to have something Christmassy already up when she gets here, so…I’ve got lots to do!!!

The End.

What I Read

Why the Sky is Blue by Susan Meissner. I’ve read several books by this author, and enjoyed them all: Secrets of  Charmed Life, A Fall of Marigolds, The Last Year of the War, As Bright as Heaven, Bridge Across the Ocean. WTSIB is one of her earlier books and was quite different than the rest. They were all historical fiction. This was a contemporary Christian story. She was still a good story-teller, even in her early days, and the plot was interesting. But it felt very different than her more recent books. It was good, I liked it, but the “God” part sort of…distracted me. I’ll say a 3.59/5.

I hope everyone is finding some calm during this hectic time of year!
