A legit week of workday outfits. In the office every day. This is the week it got hot in NY. It’s been pretty mild til now. So now I only want to wear the same four things (as I explained here) but it’s harder to dress on hardcore repeat when you’re at work. So I managed a slight deviation from The Fab Four.

MONDAY

The One Where I Watered the Plants. Which explains wet patio and flip-flops. I only put them on to go out and water cuz invariably I water some part of myself as well as the plants. I had to pretty much cut flip-flops out of my life a few years back when my heel pain got so bad – I think they’d been part of the problem. Many years of zero arch support. But these are Vionics. Someone handed them down to me…and they actually kind of hurt a little – gah – but they’re fine for short stints when my feet need maximum airflow or water will be involved.

This is another rayon Junarose dress. OH. Junarose is merging with another company and the new name will be Vera Moda Curve. I hope they don’t change because we all know I love my Junarose dresses!

TUESDAY

The One Where I Forgot to Take a Picture of My Dress Til It was Too Dark Out to Take a Picture of My Dress. And A Cat Tail.

Another one of the Fab Four. A Tencel dress by NY&Co. Old. It took me a while to really appreciate this dress. It was an impulse purchase from Gwynnie Bee a few years back and I didn’t really realize til some time later that it’s really the same as The Light Blue Tencel Old Navy Nightgown Dress. And I just thought as I was writing this, hmm, I really never look at NY&Co dresses, let’s see what’s going on.

THIS. This is what’s going on. First thing that came up with an “NY&Co plus size” Google search. I went no further. I always thought NY&Co was a more conservative brand!

WEDNESDAY

One of my nieces has been making reusable face masks during quarantine. I ordered an embroidered Black Lives Matter and it just arrived!

She makes them in lots of different colors and patterns. You can take a look at her Instagram at @jcb_textiles. She does other needlework as well. She’s very creative, talented, and passionate about civil liberties for all.

Anyway, I wouldn’t necessarily pair these two items together, this is just what I was wearing when I opened the package and I was excited to try it on.

This is the a) Primrose Dress, b) June & the Moon Dress, or c) Junarose Dress. White Keds Champions in need of a wash. And bad, overgrown summer hair.

THURSDAY

Where’s the picture of today’s outfit? I dunno. Maybe the dog ate it.

I had to be a little thoughtful with today’s ‘fit cuz I was wearing (shhh) the “only-wear-at-home” bra cuz I had to wash my good bra at the laundromat. Am I the only one who only has one bra at a time? Anyway, it had to be something that hid the flatness-combined-with-lowness that is the result of bra-without-wire. I’m-very-into-hyphenating-today. The stretchy black invisible dress seemed a good choice…with the white linen blouse worn open over-top to sort of hide the smooshed girls.

And damn, I brought flip-flops to change into at the laundromat so I could wash my white sneakers. And forgot. I’ve been using my new tote and loving it. It fits everything and looks good. I feel like a gal who knows what’s what when I carry it.

FRIDAY

Pants. Whoa. What’s happening??

a) Slightly cooler. Well, really just less oppressively hot; b) summery shoes to go with white jeans; c) back in my office so thinking I might get away with open-toed shoes; d) I’m pretty sure everyone, including myself, is sick of seeing me in the same things every day.

Pink floral top with all the doodads: ruffled front, cold shoulder, angel sleeves, all the pink. So not a “me” top but I do love it. White Old Navy jeans, size 22 short. ** SOMETHING NEW, WOW taupe suede Birkenstock Arizona sandals ** I have coveted these for a loonnngggg time. I’ve needed something open for hot weather that would also be good to my feet. This was my first day in them and so far, so good.

And that week is OVUH! Phew. Made it. Three-day weekend ahead!
