Workday Wardrobe ~ Sep 28-Oct 2
Hahaha when I just put all the pictures in here I realized I’m looking down in every single one. IT WAS JUST ONE-A THOSE WEEKS! Plus, Monday was a holiday and I’m not sure I ever got dressed or left the building.
Tuesday
Work from home day. Obvi. There was a zoom meeting so I had to get dressed but I kept it easy and casual. This buttondown is super soft and comfy to wear casually. And I would probably wear these jeans every day if I could. PS there was a heavy rain during the night and brought down a bunch of big branches.
For a casual outfit I give this an 8/10. What could make it better? Clean sneakers without curled-up toes (from washing). Jeans that aren’t so wrinkled at the knee.
Shirt: Madewell Oversized Boyfriend Buttondown in April Stripe, size 3x. Currently out of stock but I’ve seen it come back in twice
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Callisto wash, size 22 short, self-cropped
Shoes: Keds Champions, canvas
Wednesday
An in-office workday but I still kept it pretty casual. I liked the concept of it in my mind more than the reality. I LIKE the look of a white shirt peeking out below a sweater (sweatshirt, blazer, etc), but my tee is too long. Plus it has the typical PLUS SIZE GIANT HEAD HOLE CUZ OUR HEADS ARE THE SIZE OF COMPETITION PUMPKINS so you don’t get the nice rim of white collar just inside the collar of the outer piece. Man, I really have a thing about collars lately.
I give this a 6.5/10. What would make it better? Shorter shirt with better collar, cleaner sneakers, and straighter jeans.
Sweater: Catherine Malandrino cashmere, 3x
Tee: Amazon Daily Ritual Swing Tee, size 4x
Jeans: Old Navy High-Waisted Secret-Slim Pockets + Waistband Power Slim Straight Plus-Size Jeans, in Lily (Lily? LILY?? How is this color lily?), size 24 short
Shoes: Keds Champions, canvas
Thursday
Speaking of collars, this one is PERFECT. Remember this moment, you may never hear those words from me again. It’s a nice small v-neck that sits close to my neck all the way around (except, obviously, the “v”). The sleeves are also perfect (wow). They’re long, slim-fitting and perfectly stretchy. I push them up my arm and they stay there. When I push them back down, they’re not all stretched-out and baggy.
This shirt was gifted to me by Amazon seller vislily and I really like it.
I give the outfit 8/10. Less wrinkled jeans and cleaner sneakers would crispen (crispen? is that a word? that’s a word, right? it sounds…unfamiliar) it up for me.
Shirt: ROSRISS Plus-Size Tops for Women Long Sleeve V Neck T Shirts, size 24
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Callisto wash, size 22 short, self-cropped
Sneakers: Keds Champions, canvas
Friday
FRIDAY. In the office. Actually looking like I work in an office, ha ha. This was a pretty casual week. I didn’t realize it til I saw all the pictures here together. I also just realized that I didn’t put these black loafers in my What I Bought in September post. They’re the black version of my leopard ones – very comfortable and good for walking. They’ve been a life-saver; if you’ve been here awhile you know how long the search for black flats has been! And while this end-of-day photo has the outfit looking a little rumpled and tired, I give this an 9/10 for office wear. What could improve it? I think a little bit of jewelry.
Turtleneck: Jessica London Black Cashmere Cotton Turtleneck, size 22/24
Cardigan: Old Navy Super-Long Open-Front Plus Size Sweater in Blackjack, size 2x. This is the exact one I have, the fine-knit cotton/rayon blend that I have worn exactly 2, 398 times in the past 3 years. It’s in stock right now (it isn’t always available). They also have it right now in camel (like mine) and a nice olive green that’s not too yellow (I have olive green issues)
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in…they’re so old I don’t remember the name of the color – either Wheatfield or Stonewood, but they’re like a grey-leaning khaki. Size 22 short. Self-cropped.
Loafers: Aerosoles Betunia loafers in black leather
Have a good weekend!

I love the idea of rating your outfits…I think I do that in my head (for my outfits obviously) yet it can change too. I look back on some of my old outfits that I liked at the time, but now I don’t love them as much.
I admit that you do make me giggle reading your thoughts about your clothing pieces. There’s so much pressure on them to be perfect, haha. They may end up needing therapy (I’m funny today, right?) Which could be why I love accessories so much…takes the focus away from my perfectly imperfect clothing items!!

I do have high expectations of things that I spend my money on – food, clothing…what else is there ha ha? But yeah, I work hard to make the money to have the thing – if the thing isn’t RIGHT, it feels like a waste of my time and money. And One Thing can throw off a whole outfit.
I’m not sure where that comes from. How we get these things in our heads. Maybe my mother always telling me I “looked like i was going to a tacky party,” or that I got “dressed out of the rag bag”? Words can really stay with us and become part of our inner dialogue.

I had to go back and read each one after your critique. They looked fine to me – but I’ve become a stay at home hermit, so what do I know. Friday’s was my favorite. Love the turtleneck and the cardigan. Of course on the work at home days, I’d wear the most comfortable thing I owned (what I do).

Well, if I wasn’t planning to take a picture of my outfit every day, I’d probably be in my nightgown all day every day 🙂
