I hope everyone is having just the Thanksgiving they’d hoped for (under our unusual circumstances).

Ever since Katie left home (sniff) my personal Thanksgiving tradition is that I don’t have to do anything with anybody…and over the years people have come to accept that and I get to have a lovely day alone with no obligations and no guilt.

But I do like to (in-between eating Fancy Breakfast OR Dunkin Donuts and watching hour upon hour of movies from the sofa) think about the things I’m grateful for. I guess I write them down somewhere and I’ve probably posted a couple of those lists here on the blog. This year I started thinking…I’m grateful for this, I’m appreciative of that…and it occurred to me that…

I Have Everything I Need

That doesn’t seem so grand…it’s not sexy…it’s not “My Top Ten Gratitudes of 2020.” But…it feels powerful to me.

It’s also a new realization for me. Which is like a gift in itself.

I’m not saying I don’t want things, ha ha. I mean, I’ve got my eye on a pair of earrings, but really…I’m grateful that there is nothing I need for which I lack. And it was possibly always that way. I just couldn’t see it.

Maybe even above “I have everything I need” should be gratitude that I can finally see that I have everything I need.

I wish that for everyone. For my friends here…and everyone everywhere. That you can have everything you need.

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends.

xoxo
