SATURDAY

I don’t know what happened with the picture, ugh. My camera and I have been on the outs for days. So here’s the TikTok video.

Oh my this was a 90s grunge boy cozy delight. It was a cool grey day and perfect for being all layered, hooded, and pocketed up.

I was in my sartorial glory. 5/5

SUNDAY

This was a Shoptagr success story. The shirt kept being sold out in my size…and each time it went out of stock, I wanted it more, ha ha. CUZ THAT’S HOW LIFE IS. It FINALLY came back in stock AND on sale, so win.

I like the print mixing, and the stripey part is a cotton/rayon blend so has some nice drapiness to it. The only thing I don’t like about it is the “flat-lay open” collar. Not a real fan, but that was the trade-off for the print mixing.

Gotta pick your battles.

MONDAY

Stupid camera. Seriously. What is happening. Outfit on TikTok.

An old standby outfit. It’s that annoying “too cool to wear summery things but too warm to wear wintery things” time of year. Lightweight merino wool is a good option for those kinds of days. This is one of those tops that, barring staining or ripping, I can imagine having for the rest of my life. I have the same one in cobalt blue but I just don’t have quite the same love for that one. Also, that one does have a tiny hole in it somewhere. If I loved it more, I might try to repair it.

I’ll give a 4/5 JUST cuz of the handkerchief hem. I’m sorta over that, but. I like the sweater so much otherwise that’s not enough to stop me from wearing it.

Taupe Crewneck Pullover: Tahari, 3x. 2016

TUESDAY

Spring dressing is feeling so BORING to me! I miss layering warm colors and patterns on top of one another. My warm weather items are not as layerable and/or they’re solid colors. And I just don’t LIKE cool, summery colors as much as rich, warm autumn tones.

So this outfit is fine (she said with a disdainful tone). It’s FINE. It’s just a little blah. And no (I can hear it coming), I do not want to add a colorful scarf or necklace, ha ha.

I like the color of the top, but don’t love love the top itself. And I’m not a big fan of the duster length cardigan over straight legged jeans. It’s just too much fabric floating around my lower half.

So while the outfit is FINE, I’m giving it a 3.75/5.

Duster: Old Navy, 2x. 2017
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline Slip-ons, navy. 2020

WEDNESDAY

Eh. It’s fine. As the weather is getting milder I’m trying to get away from Jeans Every Damn Day. But I’m at a loss right now for any dress I have to wear that doesn’t go with black sneakers (that’s a weird sentence, I’ll trust that you know what I mean). I really need to get a pair of white canvas sneakers.

Anyway, this blouse ties up nicely. And tomorrow I can go back to jeans, ha ha.

THURSDAY

Earlier this week I pointed out to the sweet lady at the bagel shop that we were matching in our sage green tops. This morning SHE pointed out that we were matching again in our blue shirt/black cardigan combos. When I handed her my debit card she literally squealed: “your little ruffled cuffs!” (my favorite detail on this shirt).

It feels good to be seen 🙂

FRIDAY: Daytime Edition

This week was a big photo fail, between my wireless shutter and remote playing the part of the rebellious teenage girl, and having WAY too many things to get done before I went away. So I’m sorry, but this is another TikTok video day.

This is my “headed to Philly by car” outfit. It was going to be warm but I’ll mostly be in the car during the day and this is comfortable for that.

FRIDAY: Evening Edition

TikTok of the dress.

This (above) is what I ended up with for the wedding. This is the back-up dress I bought at Macy*s last weekend when I was in the city, thanks to my friend who forced me to GO INTO A STORE (aka Hell On Earth). As it turns out, the original dress finally arrived the day before the wedding (sheesh) and was jusssssst a little too small. Maybe more than a little. I could get it ON but it was too snug and just “small” all over. So it’s going back. Which is a shame, it was a really pretty dress.

Anyway, the dress I DID wear was…nice. The puff sleeve was a little girly for me, but I liked the low-saturation color print, the flowiness of the skirt, the ease of the waist, the pintucked top with “v-split” neck. The top is very like The Nightgown Dress. It was very comfortable to wear, no fuss- or futziness. I have no patience for either of those thing. I wore the cardigan for the video but took it off immediately after but never put it back on all night cuz it was too warm.

The shoes are a NIGHTMARE. They’re old, super flat, cheap, way too round-toed for me. A year ago I couldn’t have even worn them cuz in just a few steps my feet would have been in agony. They’re so much better after their year off (covid) that I was able to manage an evening in the shoes without too much physical distress. But the VISUAL about brings me to my knees UGH.
