It was a week.

SUNDAY

Before we go any further. Take a good look at this photo. Let this set your expectation for the week so you will not be disappointed.

Oofah. Believe it or not I tried on multiple shirts over this dress, before resigning myself to this one.

I recently went on a little Poshmark shopping spree when I remembered about the Kate Hill brand (after being reminded of the Elisabeth/Liz Claiborne brand), another nice plus-size line I really liked in the 90s and 2000’s. I always got it at Lord & Taylor but don’t know if it was an exclusive L&T line. Every year I would get a couple new linen camp shirts as they had Really Nice Ones and they fit nicely. However, I was smaller then. Ha. So I bought some 3x Kate Hill shirts off Poshmark and even wearing them unbuttoned they’re just a little small. Maybe by fall.

Funny thing, one of them, once I had it and put it on, I realized I had had this exact shirt back in the day (a low saturation brown silk camp shirt). Some things never change.

And then…rain. I feel this whole look is a good example of Homeless Chic.

MONDAY

Still in easy access dresses. At least I didn’t wear this one last week.

I got nuthin. Like, energy. I could barely keep my head up off my desk today at work.

Don’t I look like someone with Toxic Shock Syndrome?

Dress: Junarose, 22. 2017
Cardigan: Old Navy, 2x. 2017
Sneakers: Keds Champions. 2021

TUESDAY

Turns out I did NOT have Toxic Shock Syndrome. I had a wedged kidney stone fragment. And so commenced The Night From Hell. And then spent the day at the Sloan-Kettering Symptomatic Care Center where they were lovely and took super nice care of me. Rehydrated me after my night of pain and vomiting, anti-nauseated me, re-pain killered me, pushed me around in a wheelchair all day, scanned me, anti-bioticked me (some kidney infection) and sent me on my way.

So this was THAT outfit.

WEDNESDAY

Oh boy. This one’s a real treat for y’all. In spite of the (tired) smile on my face, I am WIPED. OUT. I only put on clothes to greet Craig the Instacart Guy and make sure my groceries were delivered to the right door. And then I’m getting right back in my nightgown and going horizontal for the day. I was up literally every 30 minutes last night to pee from 4 hours of iv fluids yesterday.

Good Times.

The nightgown dress is REALLY looking like a…well, a nightgown. It no longer gets worn to work cuz it’s just too sleep-wear looking. Maybe on Pajama Day.

But this plaid shirt is a new purchase, woot woot. I’ve been loving all the plaid shirt vibes I see…but I still have a hard time selecting a specific actual plaid for myself…they’re all too this too that, too bright too contrasty too not a color i wear, you know…ALL THE RULES. But this one? Rust and grey? It’s got my name all over it. And it’s a nice THIN & PLIABLE brushed cotton, not actually flannel, which is my preference.

THURSDAY

I’m off for YET ANOTHER SCAN. I’m not exactly sure why. But. Still gotta wear easy-access duds, plus major air circulation needs (cuz heat).

I’m doing a lot of exact outfit repeat lately and ugh I don’t like being at that point BUT. Sometimes unavoidable.

FRIDAY

LOOK AT ME! I LOOK LIKE A HUMAN! WHO CAN MOVE ABOUT FREELY IN THE WORLD! YAY!

I’m still wearing a dress but it’s not as “easy on, easy off” as for the past MILLION DAYS. I REALLY wanted to wear jeans today just to say NAH NAH ON YOU UNIVERSE! I WIN! But it’s just too hot.

It’s so hot.

Dress: Old Navy, 3x. 2019
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons, white

I’m relieved THAT week is over.
