Workday Wardrobe ~ November 18-22
Monday
Dreary, rainy, but no camera club meant I could stay inside all day. This is the invisible Asos dress that I’ve had for five years…a vintage scarf that I can’t remember if it was my mother’s or my sisters…I love it because it has both warm and cool-toned autumnal colors, so it works with like everything. The Ellos rusty chestnut cardigan is from last year and I reach for it a LOT. And my new chestnut flats that have gotten a lot of use already.
Tuesday
A little drippy today also and I knew I’d be walking around the farm for camera club, so…comfy walking shoes…and all the rest is Old Navy – which I only just realized now while writing this. High-waisted straight leg jeans, mustard gold polka dot tee and my long-time favorite black super-thin duster-length cardigan.
I’m trying to not buy anymore duster length things. It’s hard in the winter because they’re so much longer than my coats and I think it looks silly to have the underthing hanging so much lower than the overthing. And I know I could carry the cardigan and wear the coat and when I got to work, take off coat and put on cardigan but GAH, enough already. That’s just too much.
Wednesday
Big-headed mirror shot. Had to go to the market right from work so I missed the 60 seconds of daylight on the patio for shooting my outfit of the day. Bobeau striped top – it’s clever cuz it buttons in the front AND the back, so if you need a little more room in the hip area you just undo the bottom button in the back and POOF, perfect fit. It’s also got a ton of great colors in it that when I bought it made me think OH this will go with like every cardigan in my closet…and it does, but it goes best with this yellow (Old Navy) cardigan…and if one combo is The Best, why would I ever wear Second Best? So both these items usually get worn together. Scottsdale wash Gloria Vanderbilt jeans and the chestnut flats again.
Thursday
I discovered my car’s rear bumper makes a pretty good camera stand. Next time I’ll back into the spot though so you’ll have weedy trees as the backdrop instead of cars in the parking lot. I was meeting friends for dinner so had to improvise for the photo. You can’t see, but I have a black and white striped tee on under this black plaid shirt…and Monday’s rusty chestnut sweater on the passenger seat of my car cuz TOO HOT. It ended up mild and quite lovely today and I was pulling off layers right and left.
I saw some pictures of me taken from the back today and this MOP OF HAIR looks like crazy old lady hair, For Sure! Must get it cut and put some shape back in, toot suite!
Friday
It was a little windy! This day promised LOTS of running around, so comfy skinny jeans, a lightweight short-sleeved top from Anthropologie and wine cardigan that could be (and was) ripped off when I got overheated. Comfy shoes.
Another week in the books! Hope y’all have a little relaxation and fun planned for yourselves this weekend!
Cheryl
I really like your Friday outfit and it’s a lovely natural windswept photo too.
I am having a very quiet weekend here, just really hoping for some rain.

I feel like we’ve had SO much rain here, wish we could send you some of ours. Only two sunny days all week.

Hey! Looks like you’re feeling better maybe? I hate seeing the back of my hair in pictures or even the back of me. I think I’m just not used to it. If your camera is on the back of your car does that mean you’re just using your phone or do you put your nice one on it? My photographer is moving to Tennessee so I’m going to have to figure out how to photograph myself again!
Take care of yourself and I don’t care what day we do the holiday theme thingy.

Haven’t had even a twinge since early in the week. I never understand how they get stuck, cause a crapton of pain, don’t PASS, but suddenly the pain is gone. Did they get UNstuck and drift back up? Who knows. The important thing is I have a new bottle of painkillers at the ready if the pain comes back.
I’ve actually been giving a LITTLE thought to coloring my hair again. When it was very short, it was a nice grey. But now that it’s longer there’s more very very light brown mixed in, mostly in the back. I didn’t really realize HOW much light brown til seeing the pictures this week and now it just looks unkempt to me. Plus the longer length doesn’t look like ANY kind of style. It’s just raggedy. I can actually pony-tail it now and only the very front pieces will slip out. But if I cut it a little shorter and more shaped NOW, by Hot Season 2020 it should able to reach into a ponytail again, and that’ll be perfect. I tried half-heartedly to make an appt for this morning but the website was being weird and I didn’t have the motivation to make a phone call (I despise phone calls and will avoid them at almost all costs).
Oh yeah, the back of the car shots are just my phone. I’ve been lugging so much other stuff in and out of my car/apt/office this week I never managed to get the tripod to the car to do nicer OOTD shots. I thought your husband was your photographer so I’m confused…?
Thanks for your vote!

You’ve got a lovely fall wardrobe and I enjoy seeing how you put everything together.
You use nice descriptors for your clothes and they sound more fashionable. Just the word “chestnut” evokes warmth and autumn. When I think of the pieces in my outfits, it’s more like “the blue cardigan,” “the Macy’s shoes,” and my “NY scarf”. I shall wax poetic henceforth.
bettyewp
I definitely became obsessed with the warmer colors of autumn like two years ago. And yes, ha ha, I am bit of a color specificist. To the point of annoying others, ha! I can’t just say something is “pink.” I have to say it’s “pink but more towards the yellow side than the blue side,” meaning it’s a more warm than cool pink. I know, I’m annoying.
What’s your NY scarf?
Marian
The scarf was not a real example. Almost all my scarves are from those street vendors in Manhattan. I go several times a year and buy a lot. They become curtains, table covers, cubicle decor…..gifts….and of course I wear them. I think the only one not from NY is the Italy scarf. See, not even the city…and it’s just a little pale blue/gray cotton one was made in India.

Ooh, I love the street vendors. There was one year I couldn’t stop buying differently-colored paisley pashminas from them! I was obsessed. They were like $7!!!
Look at you and your color descriptors! -> pale blue gray

Love all of your outfits this week! I think you look so great in the more colorful outfits, but I know you are normally a neutral gal. You are inspiring no matter what you wear.
bettyewp
Ha, maybe I should say “earth-tone” more than neutral…at least in the fall!
Iris
I love all your duster cardigans. I have found a couple of longer ones, but not the length of yours. I love wearing them – but you’re right about wearing them under coats.

Well, I’m very short! Everything is extra long on me!

Looking great!!! 👍🏻🧡

I always struggle with what coat to wear over a longer cardigan…so I know exactly what you mean. Although I need to try out the shorter coat over the longer silhouette because I saw it in InStyle not too long ago. It seems strange but then again that’s what I thought at first when people were wearing long sleeves under short sleeve things. LOL
XOXO

I didn’t realize that so many of your clothes are in my favorite color palette {see, I’m like you, I can make things about me too – LOLOLOL}. But I’m digging all of the deep color tones and patterns. I also like that you’re posting your daily outfits. It’s fun to see how other folks dress “for reals” and not just for the blog.
bettyewp
Yeah, “real life” is not nearly as fun as blog outfits!
