Monday

Started watching season 3 of Atypical on Netflix. What a great show. And it doesn’t just appeal to me because of the autism connection. It’s not “a good show…for being about a kid with autism.” It’s A Good Show period. I love every character, every storyline. I’m trying not to binge it cuz then I won’t have it again for like another year. Anyone else watch it?

Tuesday

Not exactly sure how it’s not Wednesday yet, but…

These days I race home from work to try and get just a few minutes before dark to take the Workday Wardrobe pic. In just a couple more weeks that won’t be possible no matter how fast I get home. I’ll have to do outfit pictures during lunch or inside. We all know how I feel about indoor pictures.

Right now life is feeling very work-blog-apartment-work-blog-apartment. Lather Rinse Repeat. And that’s not good. But at the same time, all I want to DO is get home.

Ha. We are fickle creatures, to say the least.

Wednesday

Work. Market. Home. Who has a life as great as me??

Won’t that spicy thai peanut butter be yummy on celery sticks??

Thursday

Work. Camera club. We took a little trip to a nearby farm and it was such a mild day, it was great to be outside. And animals!

Dinner with friends after work, then home to make soup for Friendsgiving tomorrow at work. I’m so weary.

Friday

Wine Triplets.

Bagel Friday. Friendsgiving potluck lunch. It was a day of schlepping and stairs and good food. And when I got home I went straight to the sofa. Watched one (longish) movie, one Grey’s Anatomy, and two You’re the Worsts. Then bed. Wow, Week in Review has reached all new heights of excitement this week.

saturday

Would you believe I am still cough-cough-coughing? It’s been like six weeks. But this is how it always is for me. Sick for three days, cough for six weeks. It’s driving ME crazy…and I’m sure the people around me aren’t too thrilled about it either.

It’s definitely a to-do list kind of day. I have like six things floating around in my head that MUST get done this weekend for the coming week and I need to focus and wrangle them all onto a list. If I can get all the work done today, tomorrow I can play. Hee hee, more rhymes.

  1. Clean kitchen and vacuum living room so I can ask Mr. Landlord to take the air conditioner out of the window. It’s cold enough out now that cold air is coming through the venty things and that’s precisely where I sit on the sofa to watch tv.
  2. Shoot final look for a sponsored post I have coming up in December!
  3. Finish up this month’s Match Made in Seven post
  4. Shoot Thanksgiving outfit
  5. Make grocery list and do actual grocery shopping. My no-sugar regime has slipped all the way off the past few weeks and I want to do another hardcore two-week sugar detox starting Monday.
  6. Which means yummy breakfast today!
  7. FINALLY carry these rassin-frassin boxes to my car (the ones you see in EVERY mirror shot…and that now also include an inflatable stick horse)!!!

I don’t know that I will actually get three looks shot today. But if I can get at least two done today and only have one left for tomorrow, I’ll be happy. But for now, onto that yummy breakfast!

I NEVER print my photos, which is weird, but. We recently completed a big project at work involving printing a bunch of my pictures of students and adults, some of them really big, and lining an entire hallway in the school with them. I wish I could show it to you, but HIPAA. Anyway, it motivated me to order canvas prints of two of my favorite pictures and they arrived today.

The one is Katie they night before she left Long Island for Florida and she came over to say goodbye to me and all the animals.

The other is Caleb. I had nothing non-destructive to hang them with so they’re both just leaning against the wall. I put the Caleb picture on the black console table under the two windows at the far end of the living room. Hadn’t given it a whole lot of thought and there aren’t a whole lot of options. Later in the afternoon, sitting at the computer, as I always am, I looked up and realized….

…Caleb was perfectly positioned to be reflected in the mirror when I sit at the computer. A happy little accident.

sunday

Well, I didn’t get everything on my to-do list done, but I did do some things. And today is rainy. I HAVE to get pictures for a post this week…but I can go to the market on my way home from work tomorrow. But that means I have most of the day to do my favorite thing: PIDDLE. I can spend hours just doing a little of this, a little of that, stopping to check the computer, stopping to take a picture, “oh! maybe my grey cashmere turtleneck is in a tub under the bed!,” making a mess by trying to straighten something up…at the end of the day having really accomplished NOTHING even though I feel like I was doing something all day. “Well, I wasn’t napping, reading or watching TV, so surely I must have been productive!” Nope. Definitely not the case.

What I’m reading

Breathing Lessons by Anne Tyler. I actually finished this last weekend but just did not have the oomph to write the review before posting the blog. This is the book that I was stuck on for weeks. It was really not a Bad Book, it just didn’t really resonate with me through most of it. I didn’t really like any of the characters, they were all sort of like “NOW what are they going to screw up?” The premise was good (I guess, ha), it took place over the course of one day. It just wasn’t my cup of tea…but a lot of people seem to feel differently, so…there ya go.

Mrs. Kimble by Jennifer Haigh. In comparison, this one caught me up right away and I was IN. It was a compelling enough story that I neither loved nor hated. I just read it. It was about a dirtbag man who bamboozled a bunch of people, and the three women who couldn’t see him for who he really was/fell in love with and married him.

And that’s it for another seven days here on earth. I have a short week ahead YAY, but a LOT to get done at work in the next three days before the long weekend. Wish me luck and energy.  I wish you the same – Thanksgiving can be a really laborious, exhausting holiday. What’cha all got planned??
