Work from Home Wardrobe ~ June 1-5
A) It’s JUNE! Wow. Let actual summer dressing begin.
B) There were two votes for florals this week, so florals it shall be.
MONDAY
I found my khaki linen pants, yay! They’re too big, boo! Maybe next time I have laundry access I’ll throw them in a warm wash and through the dryer and see if they shrink some. I need the waist and length to shrink. Sorry about the wrought iron table frames in the foreground. I was outside watering and thought that would be a good time to get an outfit pic so I propped my phone up on the back of the tables. The Anthropologie top is from last year (it was actually just in Thursday’s throwback post) and is what I call a “stylized” floral.
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY
I honestly did not get dressed either day. I was at the computer all day and all night. I don’t think I even got as far as the living room. But I did have outfits picked out for all this week, so here’s what I WOULD have worn had I ever gotten out of my nightgown.
My Maeve top from Anthropologie last year, Old Navy jeans, and my dingey Keds. I just got the new ones and…I think they’re going back. They’re a little different – a d’orsay style, which is my obsession this summer. But the fit is not great, the toe seems oddly long and thin and the color is not a true white, it’s more of a yellowy off-white. I couldn’t wear my inserts with them because my heel pops right out with the additional “lift.” All that said, I like them so much in theory…I’ll try them on a couple more times and wear them around the apartment before I make my final decision. But if they go back, the summer sneaker search starts all over again as you can see (coming full circle here) my current ones are quite dingey looking. Washing would make them whiter again but it also affects the shape. If they were just “wear around the house” sneakers that would not be a problem. But I need them for work (someday) and out in the world.
Long time favorite American Rag top…the “Matryoshka Doll Top.” I’ve had it 4+ years and always enjoy wearing it. Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans that I cropped to an above-ankle length (<- note pant length reference). The pancake ? loafers. I think the reference was to how flat they are. They are deceptively well-padded. I wouldn’t wear them for walking all day in the city but they’re great for work, dinner with friends, “low-walking” outings.
THURSDAY
Finally left the building. For…Chinese food?? Yes. This floral Bobeau top has been a favorite for years. If I’m wearing it somewhere real though, I have to wear something over top because the armholes are So Big the whole side of my bra shows. Ugh. That’s why I’m trying to not buy more sleeveless things. Old Navy cropped jeans and blush pink flats. These flats are fine for work and going to pick up Chinese food, but not for anything that requires more walking than either of those things.
FRIDAY
Today I headed out for #NationalDonutDay and my first foray into a deli in over three months. Delis are small and you’re standing close to people for 5-10 minutes waiting to order, get your food, and pay. Not an ideal situation these days. But I was there late in the afternoon and there were only a few other people there so it was alright.
And floral week is a wrap. I’m going to take a pass on Theme Week for the coming week. I’ll come back to it soon.

Ha ha, *I* call it the Russian Doll top!
I’ve lost count of how many GV Amanda jeans I own. They’ve been my mainstay jean for so many years. I’ve just branched out a bit recently, to cropped, skinny, etc., but GV will always have a place in my closet.

I love Thursday’s outfit and Friday’s. Actually all the tops are great. Take care and have a lovely weekend 🙂

Thanks, Penny – same to you (belatedly!).

So many beautiful florals. You look great in all of them! Especially liked Friday’s look. Just found your blog and really enjoying the read!

Thanks, Fran! Floral is a favorite theme! Good thing it came in the summer though, cuz I think I have only one floral piece of clothing for fall/winter!

The print of the sleeveless one is my favorite! Maybe it’s the white background, but it looks so modern and summery!!
If you want to send it to me I can alter those armholes? I just did that on a top of mine

Is it that method that sort of brings like 5:00 and 7:00 on the armhole circle together and then you stitch that up? I’m afraid that will make the circumference of the bust of the top smaller/too small. I’ve always meant to test it out on a top I didn’t care about, or even buy a cheapie one from the thrift store.
Shockingly, it never happened.
I’m amazed I get as many blog posts out as I do.

All great combos, Bettye!

Thank you, Donna!

All the blouses are cute – especially the first one (that you did’n’t wear) and the last one. I can relate to the not getting dressed. Koda and the cats don’t seem to care.

Yeah, who cares. I sort of have to cuz I think y’all would get tired of seeing me in my nightgown day after day 🙂

So I just commented on another post about your amazing collection of cute dresses. And now I must say that you have an equally amazing collection of gorgeous floral printed tops! I really love the Anthropologie one and the American Rag one. So bold and bright and fun!
