Monday-Friday

I’m pretty much just working, going home and blog-working, getting on the sofa by 9 to watch more K-drama. Staying up way too late. Lather, rinse, repeat.

OH SHOOT! I just realized I never wrote anything about the 2-week sugar detox! I started it last Tuesday and just went on my merry way, so so sorry! I don’t mind doing three weeks if anyone is still interested in starting now and going through the 2-weeks together. Whoever’s “in,” let me know if you’ve already started or when you could be ready to start. Send me an email to fashion_schlub@yahoo.com and I’ll put together an email group for us…you know, a “reply all” group. Does that seem easier than a Facebook group? I’m on FB so little these days I wouldn’t want to miss posts.

So, other than starting the 2-week sugar detox, just a few minor things went on during the week.

I’ve lost my debit card. Boring, involved story…but I’ve been living without it and not canceling it because I have some online refunds due me and I’m afraid to change anything with the account before they come in in case there’s any complications with refunding to the new card. Plus, I’m sure it’s somewhere. I mean, obviously it’s somewhere, everything is somewhere. I mean, I don’t think it’s lost or stolen (hasn’t been used since I used it last on Sep. 26),  I think it’s just really really good at hide and seek.

My front bumper is trying to leave home. I tried to shove it back into place (cuz I’m an auto body expert) and needless to say, nope. It’s a little better now, but. That’s not something I want to spend money on. My inspection is due in December, I’ll see what Tommy the Mechanic has to say about it then.

Some weeks this is the only scenery I see. Good thing it’s outside my front door.

And finally Saturday came 🙂  Went into Brooklyn for brunch again with a friend. Brunch on the sidewalk on a nice day with people walking by is seriously one of my life’s greatest pleasures. Trying to get as many in as possible before it gets too cold.

For brunch, I break detox. Enjoy the meal, enjoy the outing, enjoy the company, and then move on.

We walked around Bushwick Collective for a bit to look at new street art.

Bettye Breaks the Rules

Sunday was a half-relax/half-get blog work done day. Did a shoot, updated my calendar, washed some of the dishes. Just a nice quiet, productive day.

WHAT I’M READING

WHAT I’M WATCHING

All the K-dramas! Actually, not really. Just like any genre of entertainment, there are specific things that appeal to you and those that don’t. I’m finding myself looking for the same “types” of things I like in American movies: nice quiet, understated, gentle stories with pretty music, thoughtful cinematography, and nice people. And happy endings. Obviously, they have to have some sort of challenge or struggle, but in the end, I mostly want things to work out. I know that’s not realistic. I don’t watch tv for realism. I watch tv for an escape from realism.

So, I still have to watch the first ten minutes of many shows before I settle on something that seems to check most of my boxes. And it is very nice to have an entire new library of shows to choose from. I’ve been discouraged by American movies for awhile; I know I’ve talked about that here before. I’m not (generally) interested in action, adventure, espionage, mystery, sci-fi, thriller, horror, cops’n’robbers, lawyers, financial firms, hospitals (except Grey’s Anatomy) or “old movies”…and I have just named the vast majority of movie genres. But I already have a nice long new watchlist of series (serieses? seriesi?).

So I don’t know if anyone else is into K-dramas, but so far I’ve watched:

And I will leave you with this…
