Still wearing clothes. It’s getting a little boring. Trying to come up with an alternative. And please forgive the poor picture quality lately. My wireless shutter remote/lens got more and more rebellious until I finally had to take them all to the training center for a refresh. I’m waiting on a $90 part (ugh) and until then selfies are all via the cell phone. Hopefully, all my parts and I will be reconnected soon. But this is why I haven’t done an actual outfit shoot in so long. It’s one thing to take a crappy photo in the convenience of my living room (avec air conditioning), it’s another to travel to a location and find things aren’t working right or the pictures are grainy and soft (as seen below).

Okay. Enough caveating.

MONDAY

I’m really enjoying this dress this year. I wish I had a couple other things to pair with it beyond just this yellow cardi and the light blue one (that bugs me as it’s really too long for a dress).

I check the Junarose website from time to time looking for another treasure as I have SO enjoyed this dress, The Junarose Dress (you know the one), and the Grapes of Wrath Dress (that I wore yesterday). But their vibe just seems different now.

It’s like when Doritos changed the recipe of their Taco Doritos and they’re not just not as good anymore. My heart will forever be broken over that.

And Haagen-Dazs! When they discontinued their Chocolate Chocolate Mint flavor! Best Ice Cream Flavor EVER!!!

These brands are just toying with our emotions.

Anyway. I am weak. I kept the white Converse Shorelines even though they’re not like the other ones (flat, hard, heavier). The Keds Champions were meant to be The Summer Dress Sneaker this year, and I love them, I do. I will ALWAYS have that style in my closet. But even with the elastic laces they’re a little challenging to get on (it’s mostly a tongue issue), and the Shorelines are so great for that. Plus, I don’t care for the Keds with straight-leg jeans. Like…the sneaker is too…diminuitive (?) for the wider leg opening of a straight leg jean. They’re fine with a skinny jean but when was the last time I wore a skinny jean?? I’ll still wear the Keds with certain dresses but when I was putting this dress on today and saw the Converse sitting there waiting to be returned I was just like DAMMIT I really want to wear THEM with this dress!

So yes, now I am officially a Converse Collector. There are worse things to be.

TUESDAY

Alrighty. I like the top in theory. Ha ha. It’s cute…maybe a little on the matronly side with the angel sleeves and swingy fit. It’s fine. I’m so desperate for summer tops that I let things get past security that would normally not make it in.

But what really disturbs me is that’s pretty much a one-and-done. It’s not really the type of thing I’d put a cardigan over…MAYBE the unbuttoned chambray if I was aiming for a sloppier look (haha). A bunch of followers on TikTok suggested jewelry…but I am REALLY jewelry challenged. ONE OF THESE DAYS I’m going to gather it ALL TOGETHER and dump it out on my bed so we can look at it together (you and me we) and decide what should go (99% of it) and what can stay (1%). But that seems like a LOT of work and is not happening anytime soon.

Unless I need a distraction. Which I do. But other things are on the Top Distraction Activities list ahead of jewelry assessment.

Anyway…because of the slit-v front, the embroidery, and the tassels, I just don’t see it going UNDER something. If I had a nice neat, thin collarbone length necklace, I would wear that with it (and most everything, honestly), but I don’t. TTF were thinking long swingy necklaces, but that seems like a lot of moving parts to me.

KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Jeans. Sneakers. Nothing ground-breaking here.

I know not everything has to be GROUND-BREAKING (and the vast majority is not) but I like to keep it interesting when I can.

WEDNESDAY

This is a big fail (though maybe not so apparent from the photo).

I was so excited over the weekend to find these wide-legged linen pants in an old/smaller-sized clothing tub. I tried them on quick, realized they were a LITTLE long, but if I Erkeled them, the length was okay.

However, I only had them on for a few minutes. I optimistically put them on this morning and headed to work…only to realize they’re really too big in the waist and they won’t STAY Erkeled up to my boobs…which means they droop down, the crotch drops, and the length puddles (and not in a good way) on the floor.

But now I’m at work and it’s too late to do anything about it. So I’m walking around all day in droopy drawers.

ALSO, I really envisioned this outfit as black wide-legged pants, white tee, white sneakers, blue chambray. But my white tee is in the dirty clothes hamper. So. Plan B. Which is not what I was envisioning.

Not my finest fashion moment.

THURSDAY

I think this dress was a mistake today. I have my pre-surgical testing this afternoon for next week’s lithotripsy and I was thinking Scan Outfit not Presurgical Outfit. Scan, as long as I wear something simple with no metal, I can wear it in the scanner thing. For PST they’ll do an EKG which means those little sticky thingies all over my chest and stomach, so instead of “pull up your shirt’ it’s going to be pull up your DRESS. Oops.

Guh. I’m not on my A-Game this week.

That said, the dress feels nice to wear, as always. While I CARRIED the cream cardigan with me I never actually put it on.
