Plus Size Outfit of the Day ~ February 7, 2022
I THOUGHT it was going to be a little milder today so I went with a non-up-around-my-neck shirt…so imagine my surprise when I opened the front door to leave for work and it was ice/snow/freezing rain-ing outside. Ugh. Oh well.
This stripey long-sleeve tee from Old Navy is fun and I thought it would be much more wearable…but I find the more distinctive something is, the less wearability it has for me. I can wear a white tee 27 days in a row and no one will even notice…but if I wore this even once a week I think people would be like IS THAT THE ONLY SHIRT SHE HAS?? Ha.

I bought the same top at Old Navy and it’s become my favorite. Looks great on you! They call it a tee but it’s more of a light sweater. great for layering.

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and was more of a lightweight knit than a tee shirt. I haven’t tried it over a button-down yet, but that’s on the agenda. The collar might be a little large for that for me, but I’ll give it a try.

I love the stripey shirt! You can style it with so many things, however you’re right that it’s pretty distinctive. As much as Winter is NOT my favorite, I have seriously been working on embracing my inner child & remembering how much I used to love the magic of a crap ton of snow. I am doing so much better at appreciating the beauty of it, but that’s not to say I’m more than ready to not have to pile on twelve layers just to be comfortable…lol! xo

I do think snow is so much nicer when you’re not a home-owner (and have to do all the work yourself) or when you can don’t have to drive in it. I LOVE snow, but driving in it is HIGH on my anxiety list. Especially with my current driveway. I’ll call in dead before I’ll ever tackle that driveway in the snow or ice again!

I see what you mean about the striped top being distinctive, but I love it!

Love that top with the blue sweater and jeans.

The top looks great and you really showcased it the right way. All The Blues really make the colors of the shirt stand out. Looking at your photo I see where I go wrong. I’ll match a sweater with a stripe color, pants with another stripe color, shoes of any color, and then throw on random jewelry. No wonder I look a hot mess, lol. Thanks for making me realize what I’m doing wrong Bettye.

Oh, this makes me sad! I don’t want anyone thinking they’re doing anything WRONG! There’s a MILLION different approaches to style.
That said, *I* do like to keep the numbers of colors in an outfit down…so for a multi-colored shirt like this one, I’m thinking of giving it a clean background by having the other pieces all in the same color, that I pulled from the colorful piece. But that’s just me – you do you!

And if that is the only shirt she has? Well it’s an excellent shirt if you only have one. 😜

Interesting. If you could only have ONE SHIRT (and the climate was mild all year round and money was no object)…what would it be?
