I love this in theory! I just wish I’d worn it like 30 degrees ago! Ha. It got unexpectedly warm today and I was quite warm in the layers. I tried to convince myself to stop being vain and just go take off the under-layer…but I didn’t want to lose the little bit of blue at the collar.

This turtleneck has been MIA for…a really long time. It actually goes on and off the “sell” pile and then it ended up in a pile of piles…and it just turned up Sunday when I was cleaning the little hallway that leads to the clothes closet.

I had to organize the clothes closet so I could get everything out of the little hallway so I could get the clothing rack of ebay stuff out of the bedroom.

Why is everything always So Many Steps?

ANYWAY. The last time I wore it (a long time ago) it was a little taut across the tummy and a little short (big body parts take up length). Which is why it was on the sell pile in the first place. Also, loose collar. Ugh.

But in a (well, not a FIT of desperation exactly, but…) something, I grabbed it and liked the current fit, so went with it.

BUT cuz I expected it to be short still, I added the blue chambray button-down underneath, thinking it would peek out the bottom a bit, offering two solutions: 1) covering the lower belly that I’m not keen on having in view, especially in white/light jeans…and 2) adding a little blue to tie in with the navy sneakers.

I’m still challenged with shoe color for the white jeans. And I’m still coveting a pair of autumnal toned/mustard/rust sneakers, but…

HOWEVER (ha ha), the button-down is even shorter than the turtleneck (which turns out to not really be too short at all), so you don’t see it at the bottom…BUT I did pop the collar under the too-loose turtleneck and you see the bit of blue there and I like it.

Wow, that was a lot of explanation for “I wore a blue thing under a rust thing.”

But who would I be if not an over-thinker/explainer??
