Plus Size Outfit of the Day ~ March 3, 2022
This is a very favorite outfit.
I LOVE this cardigan. It’s a wool blend, not thick but warm. Good fit in the shoulders and sleeves, good length. I can actually put my hands into the pockets! I like the v-neck style on a cardigan, i like buttons. This is different than the “open front” cardigans that have been so commonly-found the past few years. It’s more of an old school boyfriend/grandfather look and I prefer that.
THEN. I love the mustard striped v-neck tee. I love the little bit of white showing in the v from the white tee below. I love the mustard with the grey. I love the mustard and the charcoal grey with the “just faded a little bit” dark wash jeans.
I love all the things. Individually and combined.
I WISH the cardigan were just a slightly better fit, it’s a smidge on the snug side still, but…I can live with that here. Snug isn’t even the right word. The front opening is too wide. I don’t need to BUTTON it, but I’ll be happy when the two sides come a little closer together.
I got to work and immediately dribbled coffee all down my front so…hopefully I didn’t ruin the striped tee 🙂 I baby-wiped then tide-to-go’d right away, but we’ll see.
So, yeah. Wanted to wear a favorite outfit rigth before living a week out of a suitcase and not ever having quite the right thing. Last week LA was in the high 80s, but now it looks like 60s through the weekend. That’s the hardest kind of packing. Fluctuating weather…combined with not knowing what other people’s plans are – will I be out walking all day in the hot sun? Are we laying in the ac watching movies and eating cookie dough? Are we going for drives in the car? Will we be at the beach (note to self: bring bathing suit just in case)?
Packing is torture. I could write a book.

For a moment I thought the regular Bettye had been secretly switched out for a different one, there was so much positive being said about this outfit. Then I got the cardigan snugness part and was relieved. I have to agree that the layering of the two Ts here is pretty much *chef’s kiss*. It’s like the more simple and “effortless” the style, the harder it is to get every detail just right!

Ha, yes, it’s like Jodie started it and I finished it, BUT…it was all me 🙂 But I think I write a very positive post EVERY TIME I wear this particular outfit. I love it that much 😉
Yes. It’s fun when it’s all simple neutral and minimal..and then there’s a tiny ruffled cuff or pretty buttons or something. Subtle. Special.

I can so relate to trying to pack for a trip that way. Even when the weather is in the 80s, there’s always that detail about air conditioning and what you are doing.

Yes! Are we going to fancy dinner? Are we walking to an air conditioned movie theater in the rain? Are we going to the exotic cat research center in the desert? Are we spending the afternoon in the sunny backyard with a dog? We just can’t know what life will bring our way. And we also can’t bring everything we own. Cuz weight limit.
So…we wear the same thing day after day, ha ha.

I have found that baby wipes handle almost any dribble or stain except baby formula!! Hope that darling mustard striped top wasn’t permanently stained. So frustrating. You wear that color well. I love it but not everyone does. And olive drab is another fave. I bet we have similar coloring and wear similar colors well.
