Plus Size Outfit of the Day ~ March 29, 2022
Uhm. Okay. It’s fine. I like the palette in theory. I like light grey sweaters in THEORY. But once I put them ON…I’m never happy with them. I do like the low contrast of the light grey with the faded chambray blue and the light-ish wash jeans.
This sweater is also a little snugger than it’s sister, The Taupe Cashmere V-Neck. They’re the same brand and size, bought at the same time…the taupe one just has a more gracious fit.
Jeans. Sneakers. Lather Rinse Repeat.
Grey V-Neck: Magaschoni/Nordstrom Rack, 2x. 2021
Blue Chambray Button-down: Charlotte Russe, 3x. 2015
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Navy Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons. 2021
* Just a funny aside…well, maybe not THAT funny…and maybe not funny to YOU, but I thought it was entertaining. BTS has a song called Anpanman, it’s not my favorite (except when I’m in a certain mood) but it seems to be a concert favorite. Anyway, after hearing the song for almost two years now, I was finally like WHAT THE HECK IS AN ANPANMAN?? So I googled (as one does). And this is what an anpanman is, “When translated into English, Anpanman means “Bean Bun Man.” He doesn’t need to eat or drink to sustain himself and has never been seen eating, as it is believed the bean jam in his head allows him to sustain himself in this manner. His weaknesses are water and anything else that makes his head dirty.”
How can you NOT love that country??
And in NOT such entertaining news, yesterday’s Check Engine Light was not good. Almost $1000 of STUFF that needed fixing. I’m trying to just GO WITH THE FLOW. I’ll have had the car 10 years in July, I’m at 115,000 miles, and really, other than (so. many.) tires, light-bulbs and a new battery, I’ve really had nothing go wrong with it. I knew things would start to go eventually…but I’m trying to feel gratitude for all the good years (even though it’s pulling money from The Korea Fund). But I’m trying. And, hopefully this will be it for the duration of our time together. Fingers crossed.

Sometimes the idea and the execution of it just don’t fit together the way we’d like. I hate it when that happens. I think a spot of dark at the top would feel more balanced to you. The dark blue sneakers are drawing the eye down and away from your face. I know you aren’t a scarf wearer, but a navy bandana to try for effect would be an interesting experiment. My first thought was, “I wish the collar of the shirt was dark denim blue; THAT would sort it out!” I like the low value contrast of the jeans, shirt and sweater; they’re in harmony with your personal coloring!

PS: Sorry about the car… We had a check engine adventure at the beginning of December that slammed our Christmas budget. Hope yours is sorted soon and relatively painelessly…

Oofah, cars are a pain that way.
