2017 Plus Size Fall Haul #1 (with video!)
I finally bit the bullet and purchased some new plus size fall wardrobe items online…and I thought I’d share with you my thoughts about the items I got.
I purchased items from online shopping sites: Full Beauty/Woman Within/Jessica London, Forever 21, Asos, Thred-Up, Rainbow Shops, Gwynnie Bee and Old Navy. These are all in size 2x or 3x. It wasn’t such a successful shop and most of the items have already been returned…and as soon as I get all my refunds I’ll give it another try.
I rant a bit about spending money on “basics,” when they’re really so simple and invisible…and about brands using inconsistent sizing.
I apologize for it being SO so long. I considered cutting it in half and doing a Part 1 and Part 2, but….let’s just move on with it, shall we?
I spent almost the entire day last Saturday recording this fall haul; this vlog stuff has a steep learning curve! It took me so long, by the last couple of outfits the video is so dark you can barely see the color of the items I’m wearing! I also committed the cardinal sin of videoing, which is filming in portrait orientation (instead of landscape) – GAH! I’m having some video/photography challenges in the new apartment still, so bear with me while I get my space and lighting figured out!
If you have any questions about the items, please comment here or in the comments section underneath the video.

I know what you mean with the burgundy cardigan, but I love it! But the other wine one is fantastic too! Wine goes without anything……..fish, meat, ….😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 You look better every week!

Thanks, Nancy 🙂 I FEEL better every week!

I like the red cardigan. Try turning up the sleeves to make a cuff and wear it that way. We are short-armed in our family. I have always had sleeves shortened like pant legs. Short-legged too!

I sent the red cardi back. The sleeves were not just long, they were very loose, so a “cuff-up” flopped right back down. The past two days I wore sweaters with properly-fitting sleeves and I was so appreciative of their gently snug fit that it made me glad I’d let go of the floppy-sleeved red cardigan. I think sloppy sleeve length is one of the key “schlubbiness” factors. Sometimes I fall in love with one aspect of an item and overlook the “cons.” I need to stick to my “no More Schlub” guns! Anyway. I know there’s a chunky knit red cardigan out there somewhere that’s just right for my body!

Hi its such a shame when you have to send things back, I loved you in the yellow cardi I think it fitted in the body just sleeves too long also loved the second wine cardi. I also liked the striped top it looked right size.. Loved the floaty dress and thought the Black Watch Tartan looked really nice.Hope that helps

Thanks for the feedback, Pauline! I’m used to sending things back because *most* things don’t fit. In the end, I did keep the black watch tartan plaid shirtdress from Old Navy for one more try.
Do you have better luck with online shopping than I do??

Shoes are my worst item.my husband always says get the delivery person to hang on so they can take them straight back,I did have one bad experience where I ordered a dress, and thought it was a U.S company, when I got it it was utter rubbish, and found out it was from somewhere in Shanghai, and they didn’t want to take it back, but after much toing and froing and at quite a cost They took it back and refunded !!

Glad you won the Shanghai battle! I only order *very* very inexpensive items from China, etc, because returns can be so challenging!
