Week in Review: Weeks 110-111
NOW is it spring? Huh? Is it? When? WHEN?!? There were finally a couple days mild enough to walk outdoors a bit without regret. And by “mild” I mean “not frigid.”
And I JUST this instant learned something amazing so I’ll share it with you Just In Case you’ve ever had this annoying thing happen to you and you didn’t know how to stop it. Are you ever just typing along in Word or email or any sort of document writer thingie, minding your own business…when you realize you omitted a word or misspelled something or just needed to go back into the already typed text to change something? And you put your cursor into the spot where you want to edit or add…and instead of just typing the text in, it actually starts typing OVER what is already there, so it deletes stuff as you type along? I’m probably not explaining this well but if this has ever happened to you, you probably recognize what I’m saying. ANYWAY. The only work-around I’d ever come up with (beyond just re-typinging everything, blrgh) was to cut the section out, paste it into notepad, make my changes, then copy/paste it back to the word doc I was working in. Uh. Noying. BUT, I just learned that if you just press the “Insert” key (mine is right next to my “backspace” key – between the letter and number keypads), it fixes it…and now you can INSERT (which is what you wanted to do in the first place) instead of typing OVER text. I must accidentally hit the key in my mad-dash typing, cuz that is a frequent situation.
If you’re a Smarty McSmarty Pants and already knew that, well just move along, there’s nothing to see here. But if you’re HUMAN like me and sometimes perplexed by these machines that are supposed to be helping us but sometimes not so much, well HIGH FIVE, MY FRIEND!!!
And that completes the educational portion of this post and we shall commence with the pictures. Remember last week I did Month in Review, so this is two week’s worth…you might want to grab a snack first. It could be awhile.
Stopped into the pet store for some goodies for the kids. Caleb got some soft chewy goodies, and I bought Janey a little brown plush squirrel that was supposed to have catnip in it. I kind of doubt it does because she’s barely looked at it, but *I* am surprised by it every day when I think it’s poop on the floor…and have to do a double-take to remind me that it’s not.
My life. So classy.
I got this feelin, somebody’s watching meeeee.
I could have sworn I’d already posted this picture of Caleb but…he’s just so cute, what can it hurt to post again.
Someone spilled their chickpeas in the parking lot.
Happy Easter, Bunnies.
Yes, it snowed. Again.
Poor little daffs trying so hard to be springy…
Cute house. Love the little moon cut-outs on the shutters.
Loving MoviePass. Saw Outside In – quiet, a little sad, but sweet. I liked it.
Rain washed most of the snow away.
My neighbor at the gas station.
Hi Janey.
I got an undeserved ticket.
Yummmm.
Quiet afternoon.
Saw Finding Your Feet. Also sweet. I like nice movies.
Went for a little walk with a girlfriend then for coffee. Was good to get out in the world a bit and see some real signs of spring.
And now I’m winding down from my little mini-vacay (I had a couple days off this week) and am going to spend a quiet evening reading before heading back to work tomorrow.
Is it actual Spring where you are? Like with sun and warm breezes and birds chirping and no snow?? Can I come stay with you??

Wonderful pictures, thank you :). Oh not snow again… I cross fingers for spring 😉

This Saturday is supposed to be beautiful! Almost 70 degrees Fahrenheit. And I’ll be indoors from 10am til midnight at a work event. And Sunday? Rain. Sigh. But it’s coming. The crocus and daffodils are up. It’s coming.

I’m a new subscriber. I have no idea how I came across blog but I’m sure glad I did. 🙂
We have snow too. Yuck it you, yuck, yuck!
Fashion Schlub
I’m glad, too! The more the merrier! I THINK we might be done with snow…although I said that in February…and even March…and we still had snow in April! I think Illinois, you’re colder than we are here.
Debbie from Illinois
Oh my spell check. I meant yuckity, yuck, yuck!

I love the concept of a week in photos! Sorry to hear about the undeserved ticket, though. As for the photo of the spilled chickpeas, the fact that it was followed by a photo of a giant bunny, made me wonder if those were chickpeas after all 😀

I went to Village Hall today to try, unsuccessfully, to straighten out the ticket. NG. I just have to pay it. Ugh. Ha, giant bunny chickpea poop!

Castor and Teun love catnip toys. They are always drooling all over it and tearing it apart in five minutes. I will cross my fingers for you that spring is coming soon to your place too!
Fashion Schlub
Janey usually looks best catnip, too…which is why I suspect this toy either didn’t actually have any in it, or it was so old it no longer had any scent.

Funny! I’ve missed your posts on my self-imposed blog/social media/habit/wasting time off. It’s snowing as I type this so you’re not alone. My hyacinth perked things up for awhile inside here but so far no daffodils outside at all. Some greenery but no actual flowers. I’m hoping this is a down payment on no mosquitos this summer. Caleb looks like he’s in his natural element in the snow. Like he’d prefer laying outside in the winter instead of the summer. I hope you enjoyed your mini vacay though I did read about your quiet time you were having a week or so ago. I can’t remember if I commented since I was trying to use my time differently (not necessarily wiser, just differently) but if not, I hope you’re not still feeling bummed out. Did you get that shopstyle widget stuff figured out? Did my directions give you any help? Also, I’d be interested in going to some sort of blog conference sometime. Do you go to any?
Fashion Schlub
Ahh, no mosquitoes would be nice, if that is, indeed, the trade-off for a long winter.
Still a little frustrated by Shopstyle – it says this on their page, “At this time, WordPress-hosted sites do not allow embedding scripts or iframes. This WordPress limitation means that you will not be able to display ShopStyle Collective’s widgets or collections. If you have a WordPress-hosted site, you can use ShopStyle Collective text links in your blog content or create a plain HTML widget and link to each item manually. Check out this WordPress help page for more information.” And I *CAN* use the links but I like that neat widget thing that puts the little graphic of all the items neatly on the page altogether. It just is really surprising to me that Shopstyle and WordPress would not play more nicely together. Do you use WordPress?? I would LOVE to go to a blogging conference sometime, too. I’m always amazed that more big conferences are *not* in NY (it being the center of the universe and all)…and travel is still a bit difficult for me ($$) but things should be better by the end of this year.
We could just start our own 🙂
Glad to have you back!

Hello! That is a nifty trick about typing in words so they do not disappear. I am also not very technically proficient and find myself bewildered by all things tech. Ergh ,
Those poor daffodils. I took a simmer shot in New York but they were pansies instead fighting to stay vibrant and alive in the snow. Summer will be here in just a few days but I think mother nature forgot about spring.
Love the shots of Caleb!
Stay warm, stay cool..odd to have yo say both at once !
❤️❤️❤️

The early spring flowers are so resilient! I think we’re still on “stay warm,” even though it is a little milder this week!
