MONDAY

This is my “Thought I Was Working From Home But Got a Text from Co-Worker at 9am saying HEY WHERE ARE YOU” outfit of the day. When push comes to shove and I have to get ready hurriedly, I always go with comfort. Plus, it’s rainy and windy.

There’s some hard-core layering going on here. I’m wearing a thin rayon/cotton tee underneath the cashmere turtleneck. The fabric combo makes it very thin and drapey, not bulky so it’s like it’s not even there. Then to go OUT THERE I put on the lightweight liner jacket with my Not Really a Raincoat over that. It’s not really a raincoat cuz it’s just a lightweight, non-waterproof material. But it’s got a hood so it’s my rainy day go-to.

I’ve narrowed down my raincoat dreams. If I can only have one, I want a black one. WHEN DID I BECOME THIS PERSON?? If I end up with two, I’ll also get a khaki one. But man am I having a hard time finding The Perfect Trench. I want SIMPLE. No goo-gah flippy-flappy things, no belt, no hood, no double-breasted, NO LAPELS. That’s the hardest one. I want a simple button collar. And a sparkle rainbow glitter unicorn. I think I’ll find the latter first.

Tee: Unseen but perfect for layering under things. Old from H&M | 3x. Comparable here in straight size and here in plus size.
Turtleneck: Old from Kohl’s | 3x. Comparable here in straight size and here in plus size.
Liner Jacket: Madewell
Hooded Jacket: Lightweight hooded jack from Target. Old. Comparable here.
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans in Scottsdale wash | 22w short
Sneakers: Adidas Cloudfoam. Old. There’s not even anything comparable out there right now…or I’d have them ๐Ÿ™

TUESDAY

Another dreary-looking day. Another day in the office. I wanted simple and cozy.

Sweater: Rachel Roy, old | 3x | There’s a couple pre-owned ones now on ebay and Poshmark
Jeans: Charlotte Russe Refuge skinny jeans, size 22 short
Shoes: Aerosoles Betunia flats
Coat: Old Navy black collarless coat, old | 22 |

WEDNESDAY

Today was…THAT day. Work from home. Dreary grey cold not going anywhere. But had to put on clothes and look presentable for an afternoon zoom. Excellent hair day, ha ha. Just acknowledging the day’s gifts.

Leggings and That Shirt I Hate But Wear All the Time so I can jump around the living room.

Shirt: Ava & Viv from Target. Old | 3x
Leggings: Catherine’s navy capri leggings | 3x

THURSDAY

No great thought process went into this outfit today. It’s a little cold, so layers. I haven’t worn white jeans yet this week. I don’t think I’ve worn this red plaid shirt yet this year. When I first got it last December I wanted to wear it every day, ha ha. I still like it, I’m just not in a red place right now. I think I would like a dark blue plaid flannel shirt. And maybe new white jeans. These only look good when they’re first out of the wash and still shrunken. It’s so cold in the office today I could have worn the thin striped turtleneck under the shirt and sweater and been comfortable.

Shirt: Sanctuary Red Plaid Boyfriend Shirt | 3x | Old. Comparable here.
Sweater: Catherine Malandrino Cashmere Crewneck | 3x. Comparable here.
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda | 22 short
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline Slip-Ons

FRIDAY

My Totally Weather-Inappropriate outfit of the day. Ha. But it was a work-from-home day and the apartment was very warm this morning so I went with loose, easy-breezy. Like the white jeans, these are best right out of the wash when they’ve shrunk up a bit.

OH – a friend shared with me that Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans are on super sale right now – some as low as $10. I stocked up on a couple pairs that have been getting too baggy on me. Not every color is available at the super low prices but it’s worth a look if you’re interested.

Shirt: Madewell Boyfriend Blouse | 3x | Old
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda in Callisto wash| 22 short | self-cropped
Sneakers: Keds Champions

The weather has continued to be relatively mild, which has been nice as it allows more clothing options. I’m not looking forward to the hard freeze that I know will be here eventually.
