Getting a little chilly out there. Just enough for light layering. But a tad too cool for dresses cuz bare legs. In my next life I will be able to reach my feet.

SATURDAY

Another week. Intentionally unplanned today. Well, I’m PLANNED, I’m just not GOING anywhere. This is a Stay Home & Get Sh*t Done weekend. The To Do list is daunting.

Why does it feel like the finish line is getting closer faster than I can keep up with it?

Anyway. Easy dressing day.

Black Plaid Button-down: BP/Nordstrom, 4x. 2018
Black Tee: Cynthia Rowley, 3x, 2016

SUNDAY

Unplanned Day #2. That makes me so happy. My friends were going to the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in the city today. Do I wish I was there with them? Yes. Will I feel better if I get a lot of stuff done this weekend so the week doesn’t feel so hectic and like I’m always behind the gun? Also yes.

This thin “tech” fabric hoodie is going to be great for layering when it gets cold. I can put a tee or turtleneck under it, and a jacket over it, and not feel all Michelin Man-esque. The fabric has some “slip” to it so the under and over layers won’t all stick together (oh how I hate when fabrics stick together).

Hoodie: Old Navy, 3x. 2021
Black Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons. 2021

MONDAY

It’s Brown Monday. As Mondays go, I like the brown ones.

I like all these elements. I like the way they look together. I win Monday. Can I go home now?

Plaid Button-down: Treasure & Bond/Nordstrom, 3x. 2021. Similar here.
Brown Cardigan: Old Navy (shocker), 2x. 2019
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 22 short, self-cropped. 2015
Shoes: Me Too nubuck loafers. 2019

TUESDAY

Ahh. I like this.

I like the soft pumpkin color with the cream of the knit layer underneath. White white would have been a stronger contrast and I like the gentleness of this less contrasty contrast.

How many times can I say contrast in one paragraph?

I like this Dickies buttondown a lot…other than the name, ha ha, and the collar size/shape. But. Whatever.

Pumpkin with dark wash jeans *chef’s kiss.*

WEDNESDAY

Let’s get the dislikes out of the way first. Ha. Cuz.

I mean, overall, I like the outfit a lot. But…there’s always room for improvement 🙂

A common issue for me – the white blouse is a tad long for this shorter sweater.

Also, the back is a bit of a weird fit for me. It sort of…cups my butt in a weird way, rather than just hanging down. It’s longer in the back and the front doesn’t have the same issue. I think this shirt will be ideal for wearing under cardigans cuz then you won’t see the back.

Okay, the positives. It feels like me…and that’s always a plus. I love black with medium wash denim. I’m enjoying wearing white sneakers with jeans again. I never really liked my Keds with jeans, like they were too skimpy to balance out the weight of the jeans. But the Converse have a little more visual heft to them, so the balance feels right to me.

Am I just a lunatic??

This button-down was gifted to me from Gloria Vanderbilt Jeans. It’s lovely. It has a lot of body, it’s not drapey or loose-fitting like I usually wear, but I feel this will have different wear uses than my linen and Tencel white button-downs do.

The collar is IMMACULATE. You know me and collars! It’s not too large and it sits up nicely against my neck. The “body” of the fabric helps with that. The cuffs are better than I usually find in larger size shirts but they could still stand to be a little snugger.

THURSDAY

I think I’ve found a substitute for the missing “wear under every living thing” white tee shirt. It’s this Old Navy long sleeve tee from their “luxe” line. The neck-hole could be smaller, I don’t think it will show under a crew neck…but at least it works with v-necks. Anyway, it’s a great layering piece cuz it’s thin and like a cross between cotton and slinky…so it doesn’t stick to the piece of clothing I’m wearing it under.

Non-sticking clothing gets a thumbs up from me.

I got one in black, too. And I may be back for more 🙂

Grey Cashmere V-Neck Sweater: Magaschoni (from Nordstrom Rack), 2x. 2021
White Long Sleeve Tee: Old Navy, 3x. 2021
Black Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons. 2021

FRIDAY

Meep! By the time I got home from work and the H&G^%$J)LK#@ laundromat I was just D O N E. A sweaty gross mess. Plus, I was wearing the laundromat bra and I had to get it O F F the second I walked in the door. So I decided that visually, Friday did not exist.

The End
