Plus Size Outfit of the Day ~ February 14, 2022
Yes, it’s Valentine’s Day and no red or pink in sight. The closest I could come was lilac. C’est la vie (lookit me, I’m practically a polyglot!)
This…shirt and sweater combo is a little store-mannequin-matchy-matchy for me. I didn’t realize it would be SO perfectly matched. I dunno. Maybe I just look for problems 🙂
Like when my elementary school friend said to me one day while we were floating up and down the canals in her dinghy, “you just like to be difficult.” Ha. That picture and memory has stuck with me for like 50 years. I don’t FEEL like I like to be difficult. And yet…ha ha.
Anyway. This is the lilac and citron green floral button-down I wore last week with the chestnut/rust v-neck. I think I prefer it with that. It’s a little less predictable and matchy-matchy. But this is fine.
It’s FINE.
🙂
Button-down: J Crew, 22/24. 2021. Similar concept button-downs here and here.
Lilac V-neck: Isaac Mizrahi, 3x. Bought second-hand 2021. Comparable-ish in plus size here and straight size here.
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Sneakers: Converse Shoreline slip-ons, 2021

Lilac is my favorite color. It’s good to see something other than pink and red.

Yeah, I was not too unhappy with lilac as the color for Valentine’s day. I would have liked a little touch of red with the lilac. I do like that clash.

I like it. It’s warm and cozy, but looks optimistic that Spring is on the way. And I enjoy hearing your comments about your choices. 😁

Ha ha, oh, I ALWAYS have comments! About EVERYTHING 🙂

I agree with Laurie E — your shirt/sweater combo does look optimistic that spring is on the way!!

Yay for lilac! The super springiest color?

In the photo, to me the shirt just looks like a citron green, I don’t see the lilac. So maybe it’s not as matchy-looking at a distance as it is close up? I enjoy that you and Jodie are like the two ends of this pickiness-about-outfits continuum.

Yeah, I realized that when I saw the picture – that you’re not seeing the lilac part. The colors are so low-saturation, from a distance it’s hard to differentiate between them.
The moral of the story is…like many things…the problem is all in my own head 🙂
Ha ha me and Jodie opposite ends of the outfit pickiness continuum, YES 🙂

That is SO funny you say that Sally. But it’s true in a way, yet we both have such fun styles!!
