Hey Mother Nature, whatcha doin’?? 60 one day, 20 the next.

So I’m back in turtleneck and under-layers.

I’m drawing a blank on when I got this turtleneck. I had the blog and I was living in the apartment in Brentwood but it was before the cancer year…so 2016? I can usually pinpoint EXACTLY when I got clothing items…but I’m feeling blurry on this one. I’m gonna say 2016.

Why I’m even mentioning that is that this is one of those sweaters that every year I’m like, “this is its last year with me,” and I intend to release it into the wild so someone who might appreciate it more can have it.

BUT THEN. Cold cold winter starts and I’m made acutely aware of how few cozy, chunky, oversized turtlenecks I have. And how much I crave that exact thing come Jan/Feb every year. So it stays.

So I’ve been doing the “go/stay” push pull with this sweater for probably five years. Now I’m saying it won’t make the Korea cut…but I already know I’ll probably go back on that cuz winters in northern S Korea are supposed to be VERY COLD* and plus, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION to get everywhere…not a 30′ walk from apartment to cozy car and a similar walk from car to work. Walking to subway/bus, waiting on subway/bus outdoors, walking to class…I think I should probably keep every layerable turtleneck I have!

I’m hoping I can find SOME stores there that carry my size cuz Korea is a very turtleneck-centric fashion culture. I think we’ve talked about that before, how UN-turtlenecky the US is and how other countries – East Asian, European specifically, wear turtlenecks much more.

That was a lot of words for a clothing item I don’t particularly LOVE. I find it USEFUL, but I don’t love love it. It gets the job done.

OHMYGOSH MORE WORDS! Ha.

* So, Seoul is actually pretty comparable temperature-wise to Long Island…it looks like a FEW degrees colder in winter and a few degrees warmer in summer…but I hear that the cold, dry air coming down from the mountains of North Korea just hits different. And the summers are supposed to be SUPER humid (my least favorite weather condition, ugh) so you have to really watch out for mold in apartments.

A little good news, bad news. First, bad news: my check engine light came on this afternoon and that smells expensive. GOOD NEWS: BTS is, as we speak, flying from Seoul to Los Angeles for the Grammy’s on Sunday (they’re performing and nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song Butter) and then their 4-show concert in Las Vegas that starts the week after. I know it makes NO SENSE but it just makes me happy knowing they’re in the same country as I am. How am I even going to STAND IT when *I’M* living in Seoul and THEY’RE living in Seoul!?! Ha ha.

Airport Style: Quintessential Kim Taehyung. The green floral shirt, the brown blazer, wide-legged khaki trousers, white tennis shoes, I love all of it. MWAH!
