What I’ve Bought in the Past Six Months
Not much! Ha ha. I think fall 2019 was the height of my purchasing. I spent so much that November that I scared myself a little. It’s taken me too long to get OUT of debt, I can’t be sliding back into that pit so easily.
But I started being more mindful of purchases then…and it took me awhile to really rein it all in, but…at this point I’m down to maybe one “clothing” purchase a month.
I can’t remember exactly when I stopped doing the What I Bought This Month posts but…it was essentially because I wasn’t buying much of anything! I’m not on a strict no purchasing starvation diet, I’m just trying really hard to only make “necessary” (and we all have our own definition of “necessary,” ha ha) purchases and put as much as possible each month in The Korea Fund. I’m also keeping a future move top of mind, and am trying to only bring things in that will be going with me (wherever I go next).
So…here are the past six month’s worth of “wearing” purchases…
February 2022
Vanity Fair Plus Size Full Figure Back Smoothing Bra
Ahhhhh. There’s nothing like the promise of a new bra…all sturdy and a good 9-12 months away from an underwire malfunction.
This is the model I always get. It’s reasonably-priced, serviceable, and always available on Amazon so I can have a new one on a day’s notice.

High-Rise Vintage Jogger Sweatpants – Wild Fable
I have wanted a pair of these ever since we started Work From Home in March 2020. And I only just now found the right pair at the right price…and MAN am I enjoying them! I put them on most evenings after I’ve done my ootd picture and TikTok video…so while you may not see them that often (especially since I’m not sharing weekend OOTDs here anymore), they’re being well-loved.

New Balance Men’s 200 V1 Adjustable Slide Sandal
Another thing I’ve wanted for a long time. Just an easy-on easy-off item, and since I was headed to Florida for Warm Christmas, it seemed the time to finally bite the bullet. I know they’re not pretty but they’re comfy and easy and adjustable.
November 2021
Vacation Sleepwear
Mid-Rise Sunday Sleep Ultra-Soft Pajama Pants for Women
Long-Sleeve UltraLite All-Day Performance Tunic T-Shirt for Women
Knowing I had several trips coming up and NOBODY needs to see me in my old tattered nightgown, I sprung for this set from Old Navy. It’s super lightweight and stretchy and perfect for evenings with company. It’s NOT fun to sleep in (I can’t STAND pajamas with waistbands and legs that ride up and twist around) but they’re a necessary evil when I’m With People. I got both pieces in black. Which spotlights Siberian Husky hair Really Well.
I count these two pieces as one “pajama” item.
October 2021
I FINALLY sprung for prescription sunglasses. The only time I ever had prescription sunglasses was in my 20s. So this was a real gift to myself.
And these are my “seeing” glasses. I’m near-sighted. They were TWELVE DOLLARS. Prescription. And I love them.
I’m counting the two pairs of glasses as one item, cuz GLASSES.
September 2021
Long-Sleeve Garment-Dyed French-Terry Tunic Sweatshirt
I’m still in the cozy mode after quarantine. Me and the rest of the world. It seems that era is still influencing fashion and everything is oversized and athleisury and comfy. This sweatshirt comes in a bunch of good colors.
I am sort of looking at spring/summer things now, but a little half-heartedly. I’d like something new for the new season. But it’s feeling hard to commit the dollars to anything.
Is anyone else excited for something new for spring/summer?? If so, what? Inspire me!
