A Little Touch’o’Fall

I know, I know, I’m a good six weeks behind the PUMPKIN! SPICE! ON SEPTEMBER 1ST! bloggers. But first, September was like a non-month for me. Where did September go? I don’t know. And second, so many fall COLORED things are also fall WEIGHT, and it’s just been Too Warm for that!

Oh, Sugar Sugar: Detox Recap

Well, the 2-week sugar detox ended on Sunday. I took a day off (where I had McD’s sweet tea and take-out lasagna) and am now onto Week 3. So, it was not as difficult as anticipated. I’m a little weird in that any sort of “eating control” is not that difficult for

Week in Review: Week 186

It’s getting a little boring to keep saying I’m super-busy and exhausted, but.  I’m not exhausted in the way I was earlier this spring when I was not feeling well, and I was low energy and getting shaky and having dizzy spells. I’m just exhausted from being busier than usual, more active

It’s That Time of Year

No, not FALL. We’ve all heard that enough by now! But right around this time every year, I get so TIRED. And I hear others say the same. I think it’s the shortening of the days, the increased darkness, the slight coolness to the air now. All those things cause animals to start

Week in Review: Week 184

It was a pretty uneventful week. I didn’t go out. I was reading a lot. Work is getting busier as we ramp up for our big golf outing on September 23. Monday I went to Target for a couple things and did a little try-on video for Instagram stories. Do you follow

My Favorite Summer Outfits

I’m calling it on summer. Yes, technically there are ten more days until the autumnal equinox, but…it sure feels like fall already. So I don’t think I’m really jumping the gun by taking a look back at my outfits of this summer and choosing my favorites. My summer wardrobe (sw) felt a little

Farewell, My Love

Sugar. Sugar is my love. SWEET sweet tea. Crunchy coffee. Bottle Caps. Pasta. Brownie dough. Frosting. Two years ago I read this blog post by The Sequinist about how she gave up sugar. I was intrigued. Of course it’s no secret that Sugar is the Devil, but I had never really considered trying

Week in Review: Week 183

Before I get into the week I’ve been meaning to ask, do those of you who comment, get my responses sent to your email? I think I “fixed it” a couple weeks ago and kept meaning to ask if it was working. Jodie, I think you said you’d gotten my response to

It’s Not Fall Y’All!

BUT – I learned my lesson last year. If I wait til it’s actually cool out to look for fall clothes, everything is sold out! I’m not gonna make THAT mistake again! Shop now, wear later. That’s my new motto. Don’t Be Bettye. So, I have some things top of my mind

Week in Review: Week 181

Trying something a little different this week – trying to remember to write a little synopsis of each day on that day, so I don’t get to the end of the week and realize I can’t remember what happened 6, 5, 4 days earlier. Also, looking back at this post (on Sunday)

A Year Ago at This Time

A year ago at this time I was reeling with the realization that I had been ghosted. I can’t believe it’s been a year. It was not easy. I wrote a LOT of emails that I never sent – sometimes that’s the best form of journaling for me. Asking and saying all

More Good-byes

Just last week I had a little rant about the plus-size industry not moving forward fast enough (for me and many others). And I don’t want to go on and on again about that (just yet) but on a related ironic note, I saw in the news today that Avenue is closing
