It’s May. We’re mid-way through spring. Is my warm-weather wardrobe sorted out yet?? Mmm…a little.

SATURDAY

Casual day at home. Deli breakfast. Worked on blog. DID A TIKTOK LIVE oh the anxiety WHAT TO WEAR WHAT TO WEAR TO A TIKTOK LIVE!?! This seemed TikTok appropriate. The plaid button-down might seem a little First of May inappropriate but the apartment stays cool, well, until it gets hot out. So it makes more sense than it might seem.

I like the black and white (I’m lying, it’s actually navy and white but *I* cannot tell the difference) striped tee with the red plaid blouse worn open. But (you know what’s coming), I wish the tee had a better ACTUAL crewneck neckline. I know, I know, Dog With Bone. It just bugs me. And it brings the outfit down to a 4/5 from me.

SUNDAY

I jumped into the deep end of the political statement graphic tee pool. I’m an EXTREMELY non-confrontational person so wearing any opinion on my body for all the world (or at least the nine people in the deli) to see is not without some….I hate to keep using the word “anxiety,  but “concern,” maybe?

But. I did it.

I feel like I keep doing things that scare me. I guess that’s good? That’s what life is??

I forgot to include this in the “What I Bought in March” post. I’d actually bought the same shirt twice from different sellers (because the first was a hopeless fit) and couldn’t remember which one this was from, so couldn’t share much. But it’s from an online tee shirt site, TeeShirtPalace.com, which has some shirts in actual plus sizes, not just 3xl, which is NOT the same as 3x. And this particular seller actually had women’s sizes up to 4x, so that’s what I got. And it was STILL snug around the belly/hips so I had to do the “squat down and pull the shirt over your knees down to your feet and stretch it out” thing. Which worked well enough to wear it once but I still plan to do the “soaking in baby shampoo water then stretching” thing I read about. I’ll share that when I do it – there were a couple different methods of making too-small tee shirts fit.

My other complaint of this shirt is the scoop neck. Ugh. Sigh. But that’s the price I had to pay to get something even CLOSE to fitting around my body.

I like the casualness of the blue chambray shirt unbuttoned over a graphic tee, especially a black one. I’m on the hunt for a new blue chambray shirt, this one’s looking a little tired. It’s 6 years old, it owes me nothing. And I’ll keep it for uses like this.

I’ll say 4/5. I like the outfit for a weekend…but have so much dislike for that big open neckline that ugh.

Chambray Button-down: Tencel from Charlotte Russe, 36. 2015

MONDAY

Back to work. Mild. Expect to be sitting at my desk most of the day working on the event journal.

The Return of The Invisible Dress: Year Six. This might be what I’ll be buried in. I feel like it fits about 100lb fluctuation, just throw something on top, and we’re good to go.

Do I have to start calling The Invisible Dress, The Burial Dress now? Oh gosh, how do I get myself into these things?

Anyway. It’s easy-peasy. The grey-stripe button-down tied over top “officizes” it a bit. And gives it a man-tailored spin. It struck me when I looked in the mirror this morning, wouldn’t a red sweater blazer be nice over top? Rare for me to crave a red addition but. Also, not really seasonally appropriate, but maybe in the fall.

And the Converse brings down the “girly” factor, so…yay.

I’ll give it a 4/5. Not higher cuz I feel like the button-down tied over dress focuses on my boobs more than I like and makes them look bigger than I like, ha ha. Tying the shirt lower, towards my waist just…doesn’t work.

Dress: The retailer that shall remain nameless, 22. 2015.

TUESDAY

Ohh, I’m weary. And feeling scattered. Work this week = ^*%$$#! And I’m bringing that brain home with me.

I could NOT find my black cardigan this morning, which is what I actually wanted to wear with this outfit today. I like the color of the cardigan (#taupeismyspiritanimal) but I’m over the too-big fit. Oversized: Good. Too Big? Just sloppy looking. There’s a difference.

You maybe don’t see it so much in this picture because my hands in my pockets hides the cardigan a bit. And how are my hands in my pockets? My dopey wireless remote is not working. It’s been several days now, I’ve changed batteries, multiple times, turned things on off on off, recited incantations, nothing. Which means I’m using the self-timer. Which is UH-Noying. I usually take about 50 pictures to get one good one. Now I’m taking three cuz I have to keep walking back to the camera every time. Who needs THAT ridiculousness?? So please understand this week’s not-so-good pictures. I don’t have any more time right now to futz with it and get it working again. Both elements are ON. They just won’t, like, respond to one another,

So. What can I say? It’s fine. If the cardigan fit better it would get a higher score. As it is, I’ll give it a 4.25/5.

WEDNESDAY

Rainy Days & Mondays…but make it Wednesday. And add stress. And little sleep. What does that equal? Time to Wear The Comfort Outfit.

What can I say? It FEELS good. So when everything is going &^(%^&^$$%!!! at least I FEEL good.

The End,

This gets a 5/5 because it had a job to do and it did it well.

THURSDAY

Comfort Outfit #2. I have no regrets about spending some $$ on this sweater. I love it long time.

The crumply jeans bring the score down but. 4/5.

Sneakers: Converse Shoreline Slip-Ons, navy. 2020

FRIDAY: A Very Special “I’m Too Tired to Take a Picture” Edition

Today’s Outfit

Work kicked my butt this week and it was all I could do when I got home this evening to just get to the sofa. So I’ve napped and watched the lovely Park Seo Joon for the past three hours and am finishing this up before going to bed. Fighting with my camera tonight was just beyond me so I’ll just describe what I wore…OH, no, wait, I can share the link of my TikTok ootd (that I filmed this morning when we still thought Today Is Going To Be a Great Day)! Why did I never think of this before??

I’m falling asleep. Goodnight.

Black Tee Shirt: Old Navy, 3x
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans, 20 short. 2021
