And It Was All Yellow

I’m coming at’ya with another style session today – ha ha ha – that’s my deejay vibe, can ya dig it? Listen, I’ve been working 12+ hour days for….so many days, ha. My brain is SO OVER IT and yet…it’s still not over. So if I seem to be a little slap-silly…that’s

(Note: I’m taking a little artistic license here and spreading the pictures out amongst the days…otherwise like 3 days would have all the pictures…and the rest would have none. But I did take all these in the past week.) MONDAY A day off for me. I headed out east by myself and had

Ageless Style: Summer Love

Welcome to this month’s Ageless Style linkup where each month, ten different women share their sense of style based on one person’s theme. Daenel of Living Outside the Stacks came up with this month’s theme, which is “Summer Loving.” While I immediately started humming the tune from Grease, “Summer Lovin,” I didn’t

Work from Home Wardrobe ~ June 30-July 3

monday No work for me today! I headed out east alone to look for anything interesting. Didn’t know where I’d end up so jeans and sneakers seemed safest. Old Navy polka dot tee from last summer, 3x | Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans self-cropped 22w short, maybe 2 years old? | Keds Champions

What I Bought (and donated to) in June

If you’ll remember from What I Bought in May, “I came to the decision that in June, I won’t buy any new clothing. Instead, I’ll take the money I save by not buying clothes and donate it instead to groups supporting black people and causes.”  It’s hard to say what I didn’t spend as

My Skin Care (and Curology Update)

I wrote about my history of skincare, challenges with moisturizers, etc., back in March, here. At the time I said I would give an update on my Curology trial in a few weeks (but #coronavirus) and a reader recently asked about my skincare. So while I am really no skincare expert, I’m happy to

Work from Home Wardrobe ~ June 22-26

Monday My hair is having A Moment. A BAD Moment. Too long without a trim + humid days = Rebellious Bangs. And I’m just dealing with it now while I don’t need to make myself presentable for public consumption…but starting next week I’ll be in the office 2-3 full days a week

Monday Day off. Always good. Woke up early, lay in bed listening to podcasts for almost four hours. Maddening ones, hopeful ones. Some that make me cry. One that finally made me get up and do something. Went out for bakery breakfast for the first time in a long time. Made a

Work From Home Wardrobe ~ June 15-19

MONDAY Was not a fashiony day. Was a clean the kitchen, empty out the back of the car, break down boxes, pot some plants day. I’m dressed accordingly. TUESDAY Today was “photograph a graduation, go to the office, meet a friend for sitting and walking.” We’ve had low humidity the past couple

Update (aka I Got Nuthin’)

This was a weird week…with one particularly low day…and I just didn’t get anything prepared for Friday. So…my options were to either tell you guys I had nothing for today cuz the dog ate it…or just…chat. So. I’m here to chat. If you were looking for an in-depth discussion on pant lengths

A Little Escape

You’ve seen a lot of this place lately; Peconic River Herb Farm. It’s a favorite spot of mine to visit. To buy plants, take pictures, or just to wander around enjoying the serenity of the space. It was an eventful outing as it was my first time in a car with another

Or so it seems…. Monday June 8, 2020 I had the day off from work today. I took it easy. It was nice out – dry and mild – so I had the windows open for a change. As soon as the slightest bit of moisture comes in from rain or humidity,

Work from Home Wardrobe ~ June 8-12

No theme this week. Just dressing on a whim. MONDAY I dressed to shoot my “column dressing” post…and just left this on when I went out for a bagel. Not exciting but it did the job. TUESDAY Dressed for sitting on the patio much of the day watching work webinars…and to make

Style Session: Column Dressing

What the heck is column dressing?? It’s a super-easy formulaic method of putting together outfits. I’d bet you’ve already done it and just didn’t know it had a name. Step One: Put together a top and bottom in matching colors. Black top, black bottom, White top, white bottom. Grey top, grey bottom.

MONDAY Memorial Day. It was a quiet day. But these sort of “backyard party” holidays are always quiet for me…and I like it that way. I piddled, read, shot two outfits, spent too much time hunting down things I never found, spent too much time trying to figure out what’s wrong with

What I Bought in May

I really deliberated about whether or not I should do this month’s “What I Bought” post. It was originally scheduled for Friday, June 5, and I canceled it because…it just seemed too trivial for the moment. And that gave me some time to think more about it, which I’m glad of, because

A) It’s JUNE! Wow. Let actual summer dressing begin. B) There were two votes for florals this week, so florals it shall be. MONDAY I found my khaki linen pants, yay! They’re too big, boo! Maybe next time I have laundry access I’ll throw them in a warm wash and through the dryer

Throwback Thursday: Finding Stillness

I really like the Facebook “Memories” feature, where they pull up and share with you all your posts from previous years on a specific date. It’s fun to look back and see what you did on this date a year ago, two years ago, ten years ago! I find it interesting how
