Starting with Monday this week as I just could not get it together to photograph either of my weekend outfits. Plus, they were really nothing special. Jeans and tee shirt. Envision as you wish 🙂

MONDAY

OOH! OOH! NEW SNEAKS! I LOVE THEM! Yes, yet another pair of Converse Shorelines…and these are in a muted snake print of soft greys and creams. It was that palette I wanted, for wearing with white jeans and gentler-toned summer tops.

I’m having some fit issues with them as this style only comes in whole sizes…and I’m a perfect half size (#lifeamiright?). First I bought the 9…and couldn’t even get it on my foot. Sent it back and ordered the 10. So…they’re a little too big but not MAD BIG. I keep stuffing stuff into the toe but it’s not really working. I know there are those heel pads but with the elastic backs of the shorelines I just don’t know if that’s going to work.

I’m GOING to make Them Work…I just haven’t figured out how yet.

TUESDAY

Ha ha, I’m having a hard time writing this. I’ve been having Fun with Haiku this afternoon and now my brain is working in syllables.

This dress, so easy!
Light and cool, it never fails.
Sweater adds color.

What else can I say??

WEDNESDAY

Do I look like a person who came home from work, sat on the sofa, pet the cat for a minute…then fell asleep sitting up for almost an hour-and-a-half? No? Hmm. Look again.

Because I have so many more print items for summer wear, I’m starting to feel particularly bland if I just wear solid colors. And this is a favorite color combo of mine (black + faded chambray). But today it’s feeling a little blah.

Maybe it’s cuz *I* feel a little blah. Nothing specific. Just a little tired and tummy not at ease.

Don’t you love the word “ease”? I think it’s an under-appreciated word. It’s become one of my “life goals” words. To live a life of ease. Doesn’t that pretty well cover it? Ease: absence of difficulty or effort.

Sigh.

Anyway. Yeah. I’m wearing clothes. This is them.

Dress: The Online Shop That Shall Remain Nameless (link to angry at asos post), size 22. 2016 Comparable
Button-down: Charlotte Russe, 3x. 2016. How many millions of times do you think I’ve worn this shirt in the past 5 years?? I wear it a LOT. Comparable <- this a good option. It’s Lyocell, like mone is, and comes in two shades of “faded chambray” AND grey AND white.
Sneakers: Keds Champions (with, I might add, elastic shoelaces and Vionic arch supports)

THURSDAY

I wore a dress. I WAYYY overslept and just grabbed the easiest thing that I hadn’t already worn in the past two weeks.

While a summer dress, I prefer wearing it in the fall cuz layering denim and plaid flannel and chunky knits over it is SO FUN. I don’t have any comparable summer layering pieces. Well, the blue chambray shirt (see Wednesday) but I already wore that this week. I already wear that EVERY week. I wear it with EVERYTHING. I wear it All. The. Time. It certainly wins Most Worn Item Over the Past Five Years.

Anyway. I didn’t want to wear it AGAIN today.

Dress: Old Navy, 2x. 2019

FRIDAY

Finally Friday. I needed to be in jeans and sneakers cuz we had a new fitness trainer come to work with students, and I knew I’d be in and out of the gym all morning taking pictures.

I wore the navy sneakers with the mustardy-gold top cuz…blue opposite orange/yellow on the color wheel. And we all know that if it hadn’t been 500 degrees outside I would have worn the light blue chambray shirt over top for a third color (I don’t really count white as a “color”).

Striped tee: Old Navy, 3x. 2020
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda, 20 short. 2021
Sneakers: Navy Converse Shoreline slipons, 2021

That’s it. And just think, we all get to wear clothes next week ALL. OVER. AGAIN. Sigh. I’m longing for a week of not having to get dressed at ALL.

Ha. TMI?
