Top 5 Fashion Schlub Posts of 2017

Here we are at the end of the year that I thought would NEVER end…and I thought it would be fun to take a look back at what the most popular posts were from this roller coaster year.

In the #5 spot was a Week in Review post just after I got out of the hospital in April. Boy, I hope to never spend that much time in a hospital again!

The 4th most popular post was a much happier occasion, which was moving into my new apartment back in August.  That really was a great change for me and my life and I’m still grateful every day for the opportunity.

In the #3 position was a post about gratitude for all the people who’d been so great during my time in the hospital.

The 2nd most popular post was me getting cranky about starting to lose my hair due to chemo. That was a tough time. I feel like I’d been pretty stoic about all the cancer-related events leading up to this, but…losing my hair? Nope. I was gonna moan and complain about that.

And the Top Post of 2017 was when I had my head shaved during chemo. Yeah, that was an interesting time…and I’m still living with the effects of it.

Wow, what am I going to blog about in 2018 if I don’t get sick or move again? Haha (funny not funny)??

I am so thankful for all of you that have been reading my posts and commenting and sharing – it means so much to me and it’s been nice knowing I have friends along on my journey. I hope to have more fun adventures in 2018, so let’s look forward to that as we close out 2017.

I’m going to take the rest of this week off from posting…but I’ll see y’all next year!

  1. Im wishing you a lot of good health into the new year, and that you won’t have to see the inside of a hospital ever again. 💗 I couldn’t imagine how you must have felt, and to go through losing your hair, you’ve had a hard year 😦 I hope only good things come your way 💗

  2. And you deserve to take some time off. I’ve loved reading your blog this year – take time off, but be sure to come back. Your life is so very different from mine I’m always fascinated. I pray many, many blessings to you in 2018. Give Caleb and Janey a pat from Koda, Emma Grace, Boots and me 🙂

    1. That’s why I love reading blogs (and watching YouTube vlogs), too – to peek into other people’s lives 🙂 What are THEY doing/eating/wearing/reading/listening to/hoping for/dreaming of? My favorite blogs are the ones where I get to feel like I KNOW the person, not just see what styles they’re wearing. I aspire to that same sort of thing with FashionSchlub. yes, there’s a “theme,” or several, really…but I really want to make friends of the people who follow the blog. I’ve written about that for an early 2018 post, actually, so….I don’t want to jump the gun, but…yes, I need a little time off. Usually I’m off from work the week between Christmas and New Year’s and that’s a recharging time for me…but this year because I used up all my paid time off early in the year with surgery and recovery time, I’m working all week. But I *am* giving myself a little blogging break and I’ll be back next week. Happy New Year!

  3. Just getting to know you. I am terribly sorry about your cancer. But what a lovely daughter you have! Love your sense of humor and positive attitude, but I get that it is impossible, and perhaps a bit unhealthily to always be upbeat.
Happy New Year, I hope 2018 is good one!
